Memory rant

I agree that memory USAGE isnt a bad thing. Swapping when theres still free memory is a bit silly, and thats exactly what Vista was doing, it wasn't speculation. It is possible that it is a problem with Windows and the new Nvidia drivers, so I will look into that further. Note again...

Memory rant

I understand that distinction, but once a game is loaded is it really necessary to use 60% of the memory for legacy support? Edit: Thats the problem though, the game doesnt run on less capable systems, it doesn't even run on MORE capable systems(ie: mine). I apologize if I wasnt entirely...

Memory rant

XBOX 360 has 512MB of ram. My computer has twice that amount. I run Vista, the newest operating system on the market. Thus, you would expect it to have the most intelligent memory management. However, as most of you know, this is far from the case. Any new game on Vista takes at least 2GB...

nVidia facing class action lawsuit!

I was under the impression that as soon as Vista came out they had WHQL drivers ready, and the only thing thats is not supported ATM is DX10 games in SLI, of which there are none. Feel free to correct me.

Quality of hardware today

Dont think things are getting worse. Think you got unlucky. Pretty sure hardware is getting more reliable on the whole, its just you hear more stories because so many more people have them every day that the probability of getting bad hardware isnt dropping fast enough to counter the growing...

Actually the 1212 has 4 1/4" outputs, which would translate into 7.1 if got w*orking correctly. From what Ive heard finding software decoders of DD and DTS is really difficult because they tend to sell their decoders to make money, thus a publicly available one might not exist. you hit it...

Are there such a things as cheap speakers that have a decent midrang?

I recommend any reasonably sensitive speakers (90db) and sonic t. with cat5 for interconnects.

Im using a soon to be modded T-Amp (Sonic Impact 5066), and plan to eventually get another 2 and put them in all in a 5.25" drive bay to have a sort of cool integrated amp. My speakers are homemade fullrange folded monopole speakers with Fostex FE127E drivers. Its a great and very revealing...

Is a 1680x1050 widescreen monitor really only 30 pixels short of being able to display 1080p HD?

Youre not stuck with 720p at all... Thats like saying the 95 percent of LCD's, Plasmas, and DLP's are stuck with 720p, which just isnt true. I have a 2005fpw and 1080p material looks great.

you should wikipedia it, and you dont need both plugged in, just the DVI cable. DVI is generally a superior connection.

UPDATE 1:My little brother just caught my sister snorting coke
