VoIP router is filling up my Wireless Router's log with DoS Protection messages

My Belkin Wireless G-Router has been picking up a crapload of: Sun May 13 09:02:07 2007 1 Blocked by DoS protection 192.168.1.2 and other similar messages. Is this of any danger? I'm also finding my Internet connection isn't as speedy as it should be lately. If I put my VoIP router...

    Keyboard mystery...

Okay, I know this is not a hardware problem, cuz it happens on both my laptop and desktop. I've tried plugging in other keyboards into my desktop and laptop, same thing It has to be software/settings related. - I press Caps Lock. it turns on - I press Caps Lock again, it DOES NOT turn...

    need new router...

Newest firmware. How do you check the IP when the connection drops? You have no IP when you are not connected I would assume. But before I dropped, I would have my standard 192.168.x.x IP. And it's the same IP after I regain my connection. I tried assigning static IP's to my machines via...

When does one need a front intake fan?

front fans on cases generally don't help much with overall case cooling, unless if you got like a 4000RPM fan. they are more for cooling the HDD
  9. C

Will This Be a Quiet Case

a case is as only quiet as the parts inside it. if you have a 6000RPM fan, it's gonna be noisy no matter what.

    Low profile video card coolers

it will block the adjacent slot. but the one after that is perfectly useable. (unlike my Arctic Cooling VGA Silence, which practically block PCI 2 slots)

did creative kill the sound market?

Creative has a monopoly cuz no one wants to compete with them. as stated, onboard audio is sufficient for most people. unless if you're a real audiophile or doing special sound things, they aren't really needed. and most people have <$200 speakers, or they only use headphones.

    ATHENATECH A100 Case - review

I've considered using an Athenatech for a budget case before, guess now I have more encouragement. Inwin also makes excellent budget cases, FYI.
  13. C

would a Antec P180 be enough to quiet my 7900gt?

the case is hardly a factor in noise reduction when you have screaming fans. you would need a case made of 4 inches of wood if you wanted a noise reducing case.

Will VF900 fit an ATI AIW X800XL AGP?

Zalman states the VF900 fits any X**** Series. Will that include the All-in-Wonder X800XL AGP?

    Is It Just Me?

I find front case fans don't do a significant job in overall case cooling.

Anyone else love the Arctic Cooling solutions?

Arctic Cooling offers great value in all their coolers. While I do agree ThermalRight heatsinks are better, they do cost a lot more in general.
  19. C

    Thermaltake PSUs

the words "quiet" and "silent" never mix well with any ThermalTake product. unless if the product is fanless. or unless you have your stock Intel HSF that spins at 4000RPM+, so you can't hear the difference anyways.

Quick Question : My side case fan - blow in or out.

more fans = more dust, no other way to put it. positive pressure, negative pressure, you still get dust. generally side fans are intake. but i would recommend experiment both ways.

Is 12 CFM enough for a CPU fan?

yeah consider getting a new 3rd party heatsink/fan. and if you want a quiet fan, do not get Vantec Stealth. They are crap low quality fans with a lot of motor noise and clicking.

    Best 120MM 80 mm Fans

Vantec fans are still crap even when undervolted. They're subject a very annoying clicking sounds coming not from the fan, but from the cheap quality motor of the fan. I'd rather have generic fans in my case.

    Is my DVD-RW ( LG 4167B ) defective?

For some reason my new LG 4167B seems to have trouble reading DVD's reliably. When I throw some discs in, it will sort of half wind up, then continuously do this half winding up over and over again never achieving a full fledged spin like it should, so it doesn't read. While it is doing this...

    Intake/Exhaust Setup

Front fans really don't help with overall case cooling all too much. In fact, I sent InWin an emailing inquiing why their C720T case had no front fan, and they replied with a link from AMD site (a PDF) stating that front fans don't really help. Of course, I dunno how true this is, but...

    Silenx Fans Are a Joke!

I'm sure the SilenX fans aren't actually bad fans. They may in fact, be very good quality. But the the listed CFM/dBA are definitely NOT true. That in itself will prevent me from buying them. Go with a Nexus or Panaflo. You know they are good quality and their reported CFM/dBA aren't...

    New GlacialTech 92mm fan?

that's like the price of a Nexus fan. it better be worth it.
  29. C

Best CFM:dBa 120mm fan? SilenX? A1926? Panaflo? Evercool?

just so you know, 30dBA is pretty loud. that's rougly a 2000RPM 120mm fan, you'll likely hear it over your stock CPU heatsink
  30. C

    92mm vantec stealth

vantec stealth fans are just generic fans that have been rebadged. noticeable clicking and motor noise is common in them. as mentioned, nexus are top of the line. Zalman's are not bad, I'd definitely get it over the Vantec as they are usually roughly the same price.
  31. C

    Seasonic vs Antec

Antec is by no means super loud or bad. But Seasonic probably produces the quietests fanned PSU's on the market
  32. C

CPU fan blowing TOWARDS or AWAY from CPU?

depends on the heatsink, but in general, blowing towards the cpu is better. but try both ways.
  33. C

any ideas for a sleeper case?

Inwin C720T sounds like a case for you. nice a simple, and good cooling
  34. C

    Forton vs. Seasonic

    S12 will be quieter
  35. C

Antec 430+ Watts or SeaSonic 380 Watts

Seasonic of course. Seasonic's also run highly efficient, so it won't raise the temps of your room that much. I switched from a TruePower to a Seasonic. I remember I could use the TruePower as a footwarmer cuz it expelled so much heat.
  36. C

Need a CHEAP decent quality case

I recommmend the Inwin C720T. it comes with a 300W Fortron based PSU. I know the Inwin PSU was giving me better voltages than my Antec True380S that came with the Sonata.

    My Panaflo L1A (80mm) Review

this panaflo is the SPCR reference fan for a reason. not the absolute best, but a very good quality fan that is fairly cheap to get (in the States anyways)
  38. C

Does the brand of Case Fan matter?

yes the quality of the fan matters if you care about noise. many companies lie about their fan specs. but if all you care about is decent airflow, any case fan will do. I recommend taking the RPM numbers to make your judgement over the given CFM/dBA numbers. Vantec fans aren't that nice...

How much does your case cost?
