Is there ANY news on this mobo release? Anywhere?

I'm in the same boat as you, except with the nf4 boards. The only thing that I have found to work is just checking forums at different places or in desperation you can always call the motherboard manufacturer and ask. The worse they will do is say they can't tell you.

Building a system...any tips?

I personally have 9600 pro in my budget system and I think it works great. I can run Doom, FarCry, HL2 and any other games on medium graphics with little to no problems. So the 9600 pro gets my approval. Of course, if you have the money to buy something better.... that's always a plus.
