dell 700m external monitor help??

Hi all, I have a 700m, and just bought an acer 20.1 wide lcd model AL2016W. Its native res is 1680x1050. But i cant seem to get my computer to do that, it gets to 1450x1050, and 1600x1200. I tryed downloading acer drivres didnt work, And im lost, i know it can output this resolution because...

it has 2 dims, one easy to get too other, hidden under lcd and keyboard. i am a college student and may be doing some cad work, but would rather be safe than sorry, so 768 should be plenty then right, and i dont need to mess ith the gig sticks ?

right i am upgrading the ram, but im trying to decide weather to just get one of those 512s from new egg and have 768, or i found a kingston 1 gig at frys outpost for 115. so i might get that gig chip and have 1.25 gig, was curious performance differnece from 768 vs 1.25 i dont really want...

i didnt do it through dell, cause they wanted like $100 for a total of 512, with 2 256 dims. that is a utter ripoff. i know i can get a 512 chip for total 768 for around $60. so why should i pay dell more for less? I also found a 1 gig chip for about 120, so im trying to deicde if its worth...

memory on dell 700m?

so i got a 700m, with 256 ram, and am going to be upgrading the ram, trying to decide between a 512 chip and a gig chip, anyone know the performance differnce between the 2? which do you guys recomment or have? thanks

i have same issue, except it says my order date was 11/29. SO i did 2 things. called radio shack they faxed me a new receipt that says bought on 25th and said it would work. i then called syntax, and they said to send in the recipt, orginal packing slip, and the order confirmation email ...

does anyone know, with the rebate, it must be mailed within 15 days of recieving the tv, not 15 days of purchase correct? thanks all

its a lot more than an extra hundred or three, its more like 500 plus. reviews look pretty good on it, they actually sell them at lots of places, target, radio shack, stapes, hhgreeg, tigerdirect, outpost,etc etc, i read many good user reviews, saying they gambled on it and it was worth it...

are you happy with it? and its worth the money and what not? also do you know if radio shack has one that i could get? i didnt see anything on their website. I ordered one of these, and wanna have a warrenty. I also saw the same for 999 at target, and i can get there warrenty for like 90...
