Anyone know the name of that book with pictures of animals taking a dump?

Thanks, but I don't think that is the one I'm looking for. I don't recognize the cover shot. The book I'm looking for looks like a harmless, National Geographic, coffee table nature book, but all of the animals, from elephants to bears, are photographed as they are taking care of business.

Panasonic RP 91 - progressive scan, DVD-A, MP-3, DVD-RAM, no chroma bug, $449 @ ecost. Panasonic RP 61 - most of the same features as the above, available in ~2 weeks for $300.

Rebooting Solution found!

Thanks mjs22, I think this is what I've been looking for. A system I built had this problem, and I'd not been able to find a solution. Just for kicks I tried renaming these files on a Duron system w/o this problem, and this dropped my cold boot times (power on to HD activity cease) from 32...

Well, it seems I've gotten an unstable CPU. :( By only exchanging CPUs I'm able to reproduce the exact problem in his system. Now to undergo the RMA ordeal. *sigh*

Surely someone else has some ideas! I'm going to try to go to a friend's house today and try the CPU and HD in his Duron system, and see if it works there.

Nope, single HD here, and not much else similar either. GF2 MX, and an SMC NIC are the only cards in the MoBo, and the floppy and CDROM are disconnected in an effort to isolate the problem. I tried turning DMA off, but no luck. :(

Go to Network in Control panel and add Client for MSNetworks if it's not there. When you close the network property window the needed files should be loaded from the Win98 CD.

powered subwoofer for home theater question

I'm not sure about this as I can't find the source, but I've heard that the sub is used in phase for music use, and out of phase for movie playback.

Can't get TV OUT to work on my Hollywood DVD Decoder...

Did you set output to TV? You can't watch on both the monitor and the TV, so if you still see a picture on your monitor you need to select TV output. The RCA jack on the card is a digital sound output, not video! LOL :)

Sorry Mister T, but 1g is not "1", but rather 32.2ft/s^2 in english units, and 9.81m/s^2 in SI. So, for a=v^2/r: a=32.2 ft/s^2 v=110 ft/s Solving for r results in a radius of 376 ft. A more realistic lateral g for a car of this vintage w/ Pep Boy tires is probably more like 0.80g...

What's the performance difference for CAS 2 and CAS3 PC133 Memory??

It's not a very big difference, I got a 1.99% actual performance increase on my old 464 Celeron.

jerk of a roommate(Ok i have calmed down a bit)

WD-40 removes glue, Alcohol removes WD-40. Try just alcohol first, I clean my screen with it all the time and can vouch for its safety. 16 ounces of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol is only $0.50 or so. Use an old, soft t-shirt (your roomates) for a non-scratch rag.

NFS4, I suspect that you've never attended a NASCAR race. I hereby proffer this challenge: 1) Buy/Beg/Borrow or Steal a ticket for a Winston Cup race at Bristol. 2) Attend race -- have mind (and eardrums) blown. 3) NOW, tell me how lame NASCAR is. ;)

Does Quake III Arena Looped have memory leaks?

It's either Q3, the newer NVIDIA drivers (in my case), or some interaction between the two. I used to be able to loop overnight w/ the 2.08 detonators, but not with the newer drivers out now.

Q3A Error: Z_Malloc: failed on allocation of 1904216 bytes

I get this error after about an hour of running looping Q3 demos. Could it be heat, hardware, drivers issue, game bug, or something else? A friends system gets the same error under similar conditions, but I never did until using Detonator 3.68 and above. I have no other lockups or...
