Q6600 system won't overclock

Is you ram 4x1gig or 2x2 gig, if it is 4x1 gig try with just 2 sticks. Did you set your pcie to 100 mgz and your pci to 33.3 mgz. Also, did you set your ram divider so you are not ocing the ram?

I have one core duo without internet connect, will dump soon. My q6600 was down 2 days and I cannot get back my oc, so its running at stock.I will be putting it into second gear here soon.:beer: Thanx for the stats:D

Cool thanx for the info. I only need like 60" to be happy, I guess the ex need more than I have, lol! Going to get it. Getting it for 200$ and one of my hp l1925 monitors. Having to split up the twins (monitors) is going to kill me, going to miss the exs twins too. Thanx for the help again!

Where does Acronis True Image make the image? I am doing ghost now on my machine, this should work? I set it to active and to copy mbr, hope it works. I hate to have to reinstall all the games!

Vista and file sharing.....

Why is so gd hard to simply share files between my home pcs. You have to jump through so many hoops to get it to share, then it takes forever. I perfer vista over xp, but damn, I just simply want to take home video from one machine and put it on another. What a fing pain, if bill gates was here...

If you havnt checked out virtulization, you should. That is if your mobo supports it. This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. I have two monitors and one keyboard mouse, one tower. I have xp running in vista on one monitor and vista on the other. I am running dpad on both...

Thanx for the stats. My quad had to take a vacation due to sp1 install borking the os. Had to reinstall and now sp1 is cruising nicley. Happy to be crunching again!

I'm at a conundrum

I would assume the ram needs more voltage. Without knowing what board you have this is just a guess! So yes set bios to recomended voltage for ram.

Pc hooked to lcd tv via hdmi

I want to hook my pc to my lcd via hdmi so I can play game at 1080p. How can I get sound? I guess sound is supposed to run through hdmi cable but my vid card doesnt put out sound. Would the only way be to have speakers hooked to pc, instead of running to tv. I do not yet have seperate...

Raptor Problem

Sounds to me that you are missing a sata driver. Make sure your sata settings are not set to raid in bios. You could also try another sata port.

Is my mobo dead?

Am I missing something, you wont get a post without ram and cpu, you have to have them! As fox stated this board is picky, if you make it mad it wont work. Best to leave it sit with no power or cmos battery for a while. Kinda like punishing a pouting child!!!

mobo + cpu change == reformat ????

Both being intel chipsets (right?) I would say it would boot right up. All you would have to do is install new drivers! If you were switching platforms, intel to amd, I would say format.

I see their plan, sell mobo for 200$, turns flacky after a year or so. Then their site is so slow you can never find bios updates, so you have to buy new 200$ mobo!!!!!!!!!! Why is asus website always at a crawl. I would guess if they cannot run a website I shouldnt buy their stuff!!!:|

ARRRGH. Why is my mobo flacking on me? Sometimes takes a hour to run through bios. Always stops on detecting 4th master, even though there is nothing hooked to it. When it hangs the ide light is full on. Anyone else having this problem? Part that burnt!! What is it for?

Vista SP1(beta)- Available to the general public next-week

Just really slow. Takes forever to wake up from sleep. Constant activity runs the battery down twice as fast. Always seems to be using at least 50% cpu.

I had this problem. Had to use a the flash uninstaller then reinstall. I dloaded the uninstaller the same place that the installer is!

Pentium 840EE temps, are these too high?

Those chips are usally concave in the middle, I have always found putting more thermal paste than normal in the middle lowers temps. Not to sure about using coreduo hsf on it though!

Spybot S&D question

You should be able to do a fresh install off of the harddrive. I think you press f2 when booting. The os is kept on a seperate partition, thus the no need for disk. If you can burn everything you want to keep to disk, it will be easier to just format! I hate dealing with years of adware and...
