Excellent OC, you may very well be able to get stable up to 2.5-2.6GHz, just keep your CPU temp under 50C at load. A64's are much more temp sensitive than P4's.
I would reapply the AS5. Your CPU temp should not exceed 50C under load for best performance, it should never be operated above 60C or it may shorten the life of your XP.
AMD XP's need to run at least 10C cooler than P4's.
By all means use the stock heat sink with the stock fan, after cleaning off the old thermal paste (rubbing alcohol works fine) and applying a very small amount of new thermal paste (Artic Silver 5 is highly reccommended).

According to APC this will not work, as all UPS's after the first will go to battery, as they see the output of the preceeding UPS as being too "dirty."

If you are sure it is not a virus, try Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster and even Ad Aware, make sure you upgrade them before running your scans.
