Help first SATA

OK Thanks! I am gonna finish up the box this weekend. I wasn't gonna add a floppy drive since I hardly ever use them, but I might as well. I did transfer the drivers to a flash usb stick, but the floppy is good insurance just in case. I'll post to let y'all kno how it worked out.

Help first SATA

I am building about my tenth pc, but this is the first one to use a SATA hrd drive setup. The mobo is an AG8 Abit (I like their boards alot, just seem to work out OK for me), and the HD is a WD 80 gb. I have been reading the manual regarding bios setup, and I am a bit confused. What shoud I set...

6600 GT AGP?

They are saying end of this month, but it seems the cards trickle out for a couple weeks until they are in decent supply. I just waited 2 weeks to order a6600gt pci-express, only a couple retailers showed them on the web and nobody locally has them yet.

6600GT on the way!...Again! Chaintech Saved The Day!

I just ordered one (Sparkle 6600gt) from a place in NJ called Power Leap. I found them in a search on Price Watch. They had 2 cards in stock I guess I got one of them. Their # is 866 757 2537, they should have 0ne left and getting more. Good luck! I should have mine by Monday or Tuesday, and can...

Reinstall Windows?

Thanks guys, fortunately I don't have a SATA drive on that machine, but I will on the new one (just waiting for a 6600gt to throw in!!). Now I'll be able to reformat and do a clean install. Will I have to re register Windows again??

Reinstall Windows?

I gave an older (about a year) computer, one of my home-builts, to my daughter. She must be infected with a virus or something. Anyway the machine has XP Home on it and we have the orig cd. I would like to format the hard drive and reinstall a clean setup. She tried to just reinstall Windows but...

Official GeForce 6600 Thread

Great to hear such good news. Now I wonder where you got it? I am patiently waiting to be able to buy a6600gt either locally or on the net from anyone reasonable. I don't think they're available in retail outlets yet, but anybody got a clue where they are available NOW??

No Fall Refreshes This Year?

What about the 6600gt's? I barely found two websites that show them, and only a single plain 6600 is supposedly available now. The others are due 10/8- 10/15 or so? Anyone found any available 6600gt's on the local store shelf??

Availability 6600gt??

Anyone notice, the release date at gameve website for 6600gt's seems to be getting pushed back. Now they're saying early October release. Even the one 6600 they list is apparently in very short supply. Anyone know of other places that have these cards listed for sale?

:roll: Anyone know how I can use a legitimate copy of Windoze XP Home on a new computer? The old machine will be retired. I think you can call Microsoft and they will allow you to reregister with the same copy, but I'm not sure. I tried searching around Microsoft's website to no avail. Anyone...

ATi Radeon X700 to be released Sept 21

Yeah me too! I thought the 6600gt PCI-e cards would be out by now. I have all the parts for new box awaiting the video card. I even thought about buying a PCI-e 5900 just to get it going, but that would be a total waste. Being a non ATI fan I am going with the 6600gt if they are ever available...

Availability 6600gt??

I know the 6600's will be first, and as I said I probably would buy one just to get the machine up and running. I HAVE heard rumors about the end of this month. Hopefully I can buy a 6600gt pci express card by late September. Thanks for all the input fellas!

Availability 6600gt??

Building new system, have all except the video card. My AG8 requires a pxc card. Anyone have clue when the 6600gt's or 6800gt/pcx(much later I guess) will be available retail? I think the oem's are getting the 6600gt's since they are offering them on new pc's. I am anxiously awaiting a card...
