Had a life changing "vision" last night

I'm really happy for you Duddy. I hardly ever post on the forums & I never met you, but reading this story just made my night. You've got some guts, and I think it took a lot of faith to get out and go ask for those jobs knowing that you were probably in for a disappointment.

You have a point there... but I have looked at the prices and those brands don't depreciate that much. A one year old Civic is like $3k cheaper, so I'm like what the hell, I might as well get it new.

College graduates

Just took my last final today, and that finishes my BS in EE! It feels really good to be done, my buddies and I headed over to the bar for celebrations; I plan on relaxing for the next 2 weeks. Then I'll be starting at Motorola, pretty excited about that.

Don't go too nuts with the defense - take the fight to your opponent by building a barracks and tower right on his doorstep. Even if it gets destroyed, you'll be able to distract him and kill a few villagers. That keeps the heat off your town letting your economy grow.

Is there a computer magazine that doesn't pander to the mainstream?

I love Computer Power User, it has in depth reviews like all the other mags, but it also has articles focusing on the technical aspects of the hardware. You can learn a lot reading CPU, not just learning about what to buy. Also, our own Anand has a column!
