Too hard to say. As for bands currently/recently touring: Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, and The Hold Steady are about as good as it gets.
Will do when I get home and find a battery. I already tried connecting another fan to the points that the old one was running from-- lets assume the fan isn't at fault and the fan connection in the receiver is busted...is there another place I could solder the fans leads to power it?
No, the fan didn't have a standard 2 or 3 pin connector like those in my PC, but it didn't have bare leads either....they had a notched metal piece that was connected/soldered to the points on the receiver.

Rawlings came out with a "Sandlot" glove this year which is really nice if you just want to play casually. The leather is softer than most other gloves at the price point and it breaks in really easily. It also has a nice broke-in look. Should be able to find it for around $70.
