thats all you had to say, buddy... it might be a simplistic question, but everyone else who replied had something valuable to say... PS: here's an idea Cawboy99 - get one of the compressed air cans mentioned above, blow the hell outta your case so the dust is flyin' all over the place...

19" CRT recommendations?

i've got the Viewsonic A90f+ 19" flat CRT. i love it. the 'ultrabrite' mode is quite helpful switching from homework to games and back. that way i'm not blinded when i'm reading spreadsheets but i can crank up the brightness with the touch of a button for gaming. the only downside is...

Softmod difference?

on newegg the best cards i see for $150 are the ASUS FX5700 (which i almost bought) and the Sapphire 9600XT. i swear by ASUS, so i'm partial to their 5700, but the 9600XT may get the edge in a few benchmarks. from what i've read of softmodding, it more than likely can end up as a giant waste...

Softmod difference?

*the 9600SE is only a 64-bit card (waste of money). *the 9600nonpro is 128-bit, and so is the 9600Pro, but the Pro has higher core/memory speeds than the 9600nonpro (9600pro: 400/600 | 9600: 325/400). *the 9600XT is also 128-bit, but uses the RV360 core and, thus, a higher core speed (500/600).

ATI 9800 Pro artifacts at stock speeds??

i'd make sure your power is high enough first...underclocking your 9800p would be suck. it sounds like you have enough intake/exhaust fans...is your case hot? where do you keep your rig? i have a desk that has a built in area for a desktop - when i keep it in its enclosure temps skyrocket...

best flat crt for around 300.00

i was running my a90f+ at 1600x1200 for past year or so...now i have it down to 1280x1024. i liked being able to fit so much on the screen - it didn't give me too many headaches... out of the corner of my eye i could see the flicker at 60hz...it started driving me crazy everytime i looked at...

i just bought the TT Volcano12 about a week ago and i'm happy with it. my overclock (see sig) is at 1.775v and its idle at 40C and load at no more than 45C, all with the fan in the 4000-5000rpm range, which isnt terribly noisy. as far as noise level, anything over 5000rpm is failry loud -...
