ok let me try to explain.......... iirc a nf2 mobo's onboard video was compared to a gf2 so would the onboard video compare to a low end agp or a pci-ex card? ** iirc Anand compared the ati video as approx the power of x300se hypermemory

so basically spend $130 cad more now and in two years buy a dual core proc? wouldnt it be more feasible to buy a new cpu + mb in two years for ..$200?

:)Thanks Im in canada and a 939 proc is $130 more (semp64 is only $70) 754 + mb = 195 939 + mb = 315 both boards offer pci- ex and ati xpress video (im a budget gamer)

:)Theoretical question here... would a 775 system running dual channel ddr2 533 be faster (gaming is a consideration) than a 754 system running ddr 400 in s. channel? (both system w/ 64 bit budget cpus) also what about heat / noise considerations? and what about the upgrade...

19" LCD recommendations

speaking of crap lcd's... I personally wouldnt buy any lcd w/o a 3 year warranty, and it would have to be a major brand w/ many good reviews. Some sites offer 'good deals' that are disasters. (ie, 1 year warranty or many reviewers complaing about bad pixels, banding/screen...

19" LCD recommendations

Im no expert but i might reccomend looking into.... I'd say check out acer *al1912b *al1913w -widescreen/gaming res. would be an issue though on newegg , they have decent reviews and a three year warranty. or pay a little more for samsung , viewsonic ...more reliable brand names...

I'm getting an lcd mainly to be kind to my eyes. Is an 19" lcd with analog good enough or do I really need dvi ? (My main concern being eyestrain and not minor improvements in image quality) Also Everyone worries about dead pixels on new lcd...

19" crt question

:thumbsup: Thanks $10 a year seems negligible. I live in a basement apt. and i didnt want to spring for a 19" crt and cost my landlord a fortune (he pays the power bill). Anybody think otherwise? No offense Deftron but i had the impression a 19" crt is very power hungry...

Is the cost of running a 19" crt prohibitively high? I live in Canada. Can anybody give me a $ estimate on running the thing 24/7 ? What about for moderate use (ie. a few hours per day) Is it very costly compared to a 17" crt...
