i don't know. i don't know ANYTHING about Yeston or the PR i just now got. Who knows, maybe Yeston will send me a R7970-3072GD5 Deluxe.
And what i heard from formerly reliable sources, i printed. Pricing is never set until the last day or so and the card is priced much higher than $550 in...
First of all, it looks like it is available and not a paperlaunch as my article predicted. Secondly, Yeston is a MANUFACTURER .. so the launch price may not be $550
:whiste:
I'm struggling to think of another reason people would post lies about me, I really am.
in excess of 1GHz
Except it has already been confirmed by your own moderator - Idontcare
:colbert:
i just got this PR from China ... i don't even know the company
And i just looked - i joined Rage3D forum in 2001 and i have 7 posts there. i am still a member, i guess
Another dirty lie. i wasn't at Rage3D. My posts over the past 11 years have mostly been here. Occasionally i posted at B3D and very rarely at HardOCP. That's it for video.
ABT has been in existence for just over 3 years and i am still a media partner with AMD and with Nvidia (and recently...
You guys know where to find me. There are very few of my friends left here. Eventually i simply won't have to time to post here at all.
As to my posting "a lot" here. i posted in SIX (6) threads in video in the past month (30 days). i guess that is way too much for you Radeon guys...
That is a lie. i ONLY post mostly at my own forum (duh); once or twice a week here on average and maybe once a month at HardOCP.
And if you are looking at 35000 posts - that is over 11 years. i used to be a video moderator here and i posted regularly here. Do a search on my name and see how...
i think AMD fans will pick fault with anything that doesn't lavish praise on their products.
That's why i am here very rarely - besides having my own forum.
IF *this* is an example of me being bitter, you guys who think so, are full of it
We'll know tomorrow if my sources were accurate or...
The only place a review sample is available from is AMD afaik
i lost contact with AMD when they had their realignment. i know their senior PR who still work there and Production Managers also. i emailed many times and also telephoned them ... and the last message was "i assume that i'm not...
That isn't how it works. If we are bound by a NDA we hold it sacred and leak nothing about the product. If we have no NDA, it is "fair game"
Tech sites have done this since the beginning of tech sites. AlienBabelTech is a serious review site with a DEDICATED *RUMOR* SECTION - and what is...
Not yet. That is why i am wondering what is coming
As to CharLIE, i am certain he did not read my article. He is seeing what others are telling him what i wrote. He also has an awful track record of being generally 100% wrong about Nvidia's upcoming products.
Unlike CharLIE bitter hatred of...
i just got notice of FedEx tracking for an AMD (looks like Graphics Division) package due on Friday
A bomb?
Are they trying to make me feel guilty for doing a HD 7970 Preview?
:$
Doubtful it's a CPU .. hopefully its a (small/light) video card. Maybe ABT is under NDA and we didn't...
Very nice. Ripped from the Reviewer's Guide for HD 7970
Each bench is carefully chosen so that if you duplicate the exact same settings , you will get "best case" for the HD 7970. AMD, Nvidia and Intel all do this for reviewers so that we know if we are "in-line" with the in-house testing...
You will on Thursday. i hear that tech reviewers in Europe are P'O'd at AMD for launching during what is traditionally their vacation.
Well, i stayed up to 3:30 AM to write my HD 7970 preview. i hope you find it interesting and not the "usual" summary. There are some details not found...
How many people still play the original Crysis? Or Crysis 2 for that matter. Metro 2033 hasn't sold many copies this year yet it offers awesome visuals and there will be a sequel. ANY game months after it launches wanes quickly in popularity. Gamers always move onto the next game. Yet...
Thanks. i dumped a few older games and added a bunch of new games recently.
Starcraft is a very difficult game to bench where it is representative of an actual game. And it takes me quite awhile to create a representative benchmark - i usually play the game from start to finish. Eventually...
Emotions? It is business and it is no biggie. AMD PR is gutted. Many of my former AMD contacts are now working for Edelman (who is handling the HD 7970 launch). And i'll get it eventually from one of AMD's partners at CES and ABT will get a lot of traffic from the article that will leak more...
The game's physics engine is outstanding and the Art - the visuals and the level design are extraordinary.
Trine 2 is probably the "prettiest" game that i have ever played with 3D Vision (2); i haven't tried it in HD3D yet but will be evaluating it soon. It's a deceptively simple and...
PhysX on High or on Medium? i don't think a single GTX 570 can handle PhysX on high.
i use a GTX 560 Ti 448 Core FTW (very much the equal of the GTX 570) and i need a GTX 550 Ti as a dedicated PhysX card to play on high.
Try DX11 and PhysX on normal
:colbert:
Wait awhile. It takes sometimes over a minute to quit the bench; this happens since the patch. Minimums are unreliable - framerates drop for an instant
Core i7-920 at 3.8GHz/ GTX 560 Ti 448 Core FTW and GTX 560 Ti for PhysX.
PhysX on high; DX11, maxed details plus FXAA high, Tessellation...
Not with PhysX on high. Everything else.
And when i said "everything high", i meant FXAA - not MSAA - with 3D Vision at 1080p
The new "best looking 3D game" is evidently not Batman AC any longer
- that was a short reign
:$
According to Nvidia, it's Trine 2 . . . i'm downloading now
:whiste:
Not so. It made me start over. Then Steam Cloud synch kicked in and after a game restart, my old save is back, thankfully.
Although i had no load times issues, the patch brings good DX11 performance increases with much less slowdowns. It is fully playable on my i7-920 PC (GTX 560Ti 448...
What are your PC's specs? Mine loads quickly.
That said, there is a new 187.7MB patch that just came out this morning on Steam. Hopefully it addresses the DX11 issues so i can get back to playing
.. letsee, D/L's almost done .. C-ya! I'm back to playing in 3D
The new 27" 120Hz Asus VG278 display is nearly perfect. It is a very nice screen with not too much backlight bleed and the pixels are not too large for 1080p. It also accepts HDMI 1.4 for HD3D (i think; not there yet)
BEST OF ALL, the screen is MATTE - *not gloss* - like my (3 x) 23" Asus...
How many typists use a *compact* Keyboard for daily typing? And i mentioned the odd key placement for typists in my review.
It is a GAMING KB that is exactly the same size and almost exactly the same key placement as my Compaq 15" notebook - perfect for LAN parties, not for typing...
i just did a review of my first modern mechanical KB - Thermaltake's eSports MEKA Compact KB. $81 at Newegg after a $20 MiR
It is better for gaming than typing. But if you are used to a COMPACT KB i would highly recommend it.
Typists like the other Cherry MX switches since they provide more...
The usual. As for me, i am actually playing the game.
o_O
The game is unreal in S3D in DX11 maxed out 1080p. However, using a single EVGA GTX 560 ti 448 core FTW, slowdowns are completely unacceptable - at other times it is playable.
Word is from inside sources that a patch is imminent...
Personally, i think it does really well - especially if you pick a factory-overclocked one or overclock it yourself:
These are *different* charts from the O/C'd ones :P
And here you go - the EVGA GTX 560 Ti 448 Core FTW side by side with the HD 6950 2GB - both are at their stock clocks and both...
We are agreed on the brilliant marketing. Nvidia took defective GF100 chips and made them into another GTX 560 Ti, made it faster and called it "limited edition" (which is true). The hold their line's price point and further challenge AMD's offerings.
It is actually beyond brilliant.
:whiste...
Well, i have some really excellent displays. i work on my 15" 13x7 notebook most of the time but when i game, it is usually on my HP LP3065 at 2560x1600. It is an extra-ordinary and very fast-response display that works well for even twitch shooters.
However, there are many times that i...
There is a certain implication in your words:
Since you complained about improper character attacks, the implication is that you might appreciate a proper one.
^_^
Well if you run at a lower resolution than your native LCD's, you can also leave off AA
Some gamers have image scalers built into their display. You can then play with the black bars surrounding your game at a lower resolution. The only issue that i have with the scalers, is that...
