    Are you pre-ordering UT3?

Hm; well I think I might just go to gamestop because its local and I can get it on Tuesday. Unfortunately, there is no t-shirt included, just an unlockable character and a compilation of the older UT games. I'd like to get it early and create the profile with the username I want because I have...

Instability with new C2D E6850 and EVGA 680i SLI (all stock clocks)

A fluctuation of 5% is usually okay; did you take those measurements via software or multimeter? Things look okay though from PSU side of things. Seems to me like core #1 is the problem, so I would focus attention on the processor.

Boot drive is E: , Storage drive is C: - how to switch them?

That's right, it wouldn't let me. Everything is cool now; as long as the drives appear as boot and storage, from left to right as I see it in My Computer, things are dandy. Thanks again for your help.

Boot drive is E: , Storage drive is C: - how to switch them?

Thanks guys. I renamed the secondary drive to "F", and the boot drive remains as "E", as robisbell suggested. It is an issue for me insofar as I like my boot drive to be labeled as a letter in the alphabet preceding storage drives. Its not a big enough issue to reinstall though, just to make...

Boot drive is E: , Storage drive is C: - how to switch them?

Okay, thanks. They are both SATA. The Raptor (containing OS) is in SATA port 0, and the Seagate is in SATA port 1. IN Boot device priority in BIOS, the raptor is first, and the seagate is second. It seems like everything is set up just fine, hmm. Also, I unplugged the seagate (non-OS)...

    Retrieve photos after hdd clone

I'm trying to figure out how to access the photos from the My Documents folder from a cloned drive. The history: Before swapping mobo, cpu and RAM (from FX-55, ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe, 1GB Corsair VS to e6550, Intel DP35DP mobo, 2GB Corsair VS), I cloned the contents of my hard drive (74gig...

Okay, so I Reset my keychain under Keychain Access > Preferences. That stopped me from having to log in to OSX with my password and unfortunately, I can no longer connect to the internet or to my HDD connected to my AirPort router. To connect to the networked HDD, I set a password in the...

    Keychain Access

Hi, I just did a fresh install of OSX on my Intel MacBook after replacing the HDD. When I open certain applications, e.g., Safari, a window pops up asking me to "please enter [my] keychain password." When I enter the password that I set for login during installation, it says that I entered an...

    Interpret please

In posts on several forums I've seen people reply to another post by saying: "I see the words..." What does that mean? Does it mean they are in agreement with what was written? Or does it mean something like: "I see the words, but don't agree" ? Thanks for feedback!

    A8N-SLI PC Giving Me Probs(AGAIN!)

The GPU temps are well within specs actually, even at load. The 6800GT max operating temp is 120-degrees C, so you're good to go there. I'd like to get back to the PSU, since it seems that you've looked at almost everything else. In my system, I had replaced every single component except...

    A8N-SLI PC Giving Me Probs(AGAIN!)

Just a few guesses: I would go on the assumption that the vid cards are okay seeing that youRMA'd them both, and either card is fine alone. What is the model number of your PSU? I have an enermax 600W also; it is one of the first enermax noisetaker series with dual 12v rails. Not a good...

    Memory Compatibility?

Generally, most folks consider anywhere between 8- and 24-hours of error-free memtest to be stable (not a single error during that time). Since you have found that your memory is not stable, you need to try to isolate the problem. If you are running two sticks of RAM, you can get failures in...

    Memory Compatibility?

First, try memtest your RAM. It is possible that you might just need to adjust a few settings on your memory to get it to work. If you can't pass memtest, then don't worry about installing WIndows; it will likely get corrupted, and even if it does not, you may experience instability farther...

    Patriot Memory (PDC2G3200LLK) Issue...heeeelp!

Have you tested one stick at a time using memtest? Perhaps (at least) one of the two is bad. Start by using recommended voltages with relaxed timings (for example, try 3-3-3-11-2T). If each stick passes in single-channel mode, try dual-channel. Adjust in small increments and retest as...

    bsod with dfi lanparty sli-dr

They certainly are an overclocker's dream mobo, but they require stable, clean power. The DFI forums (dfi-street.com) are rife with folks having problems with PSU's that are not compatible. Having a native 24-pin connector is absolutely essential to troubleshooting the board. I strongly...

    Hard locks when gaming

I second the idea of trying a single card. Could be a power issue. Also ensure that the RAM you are using is on the QVL for that board. You might also try unhooking all peripherals, including sound card and uninstalliung sound card drivers (use driver cleaner to get rid of the last of the...

    bsod with dfi lanparty sli-dr

Exactly. I would suspect the RAM would be at the top of the list to check first, right before the PSU. Certain Value RAM, including Corsair, have been shown to be problematic with that board. Also, are all connectors plugged into the mobo, including the 4-pin floppy connector? Generic PSU's...

    Two 256 7800 GTXs or One 512 7800 GTX?

If you're going with a dual-rail PSU, make sure it is on the approved vendors list if possible. Those two cards plus some peripherals will be running off of one of those 12v rails (the other feeds CPU). I would simply go with a single-rail PSU with beefy 12v capacity.

Help with DFI nF4-SLI board... Never mind, I found the problem

I take it you are running 2 sticks of RAM? Try memtest with only a single stick, then adjust timings, command rate (CPC), and voltages as needed. Start by manually inputting stock RAM timing and voltage values at 2T.
