You'll need the HD version of AnyDVD, which is more expensive, but there's nothing extra you need to do. Just run AnyDVD HD and your choice of media player. None of the free players have good menu support, even the Leawo player mentioned in the first post. VLC is working on a solution...

Kingston V310 superb endurance for a consumer SSD?

I wouldn't care if this thing offered free booze and babes as fringe benefits. After Kingston screwed people around with the V300 (including me), they are off my list of possible sources for SSD's or memory. Won't recommend them and won't buy from them.

Whatever happened to DivX?

Divx and Xvid are both video codecs, forms of Mpeg-4 ASP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4_Part_2 Xvid is from an open source project. Divx is proprietary. H264 is a more modern codec, more formally known as Mpeg-4 Part 10, or AVC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC

People still use Xvid/Divx codecs for compression. It can give results that are just as good as H264, but cannot do this in similar file sizes. If you don't mind larger files, it works fine. Most of the people I see still using Xvid are those with older DVD players that are Divx certified...

Any PotPlayer users out there?

I use PotPlayer for testing purposes, and the occasional strange file that baffles my other players, including a few varieties of H265. It is very capable, and plays HD video well, but the interface is not user friendly in the slightest, so I have to have a good reason to fire it up.
