Duels of the Planeswalkers is structurally completely different than Magic the Gathering: Online. Duels of the Planeswalkers has a limited cardbase and doesn't allow you to purchase cards/packs, whereas MtG:O is the paper analog and can be a huge money sink.

have you tried searching for virtualbox cli stuff (one, two, three)? as far as moving images maybe here or here? i only use vb as a desktop app, so i don't really have any experience with the needs you have. the only other virtualization platform i know of is xen.

Can't upgrade existing Ubuntu 8.04 > 8.10

check out the gparted live cd. it will allow you to resize your partitions without wiping them out. i've never had a problem with any resizing i've done, but always backup important data. you may just be able to boot from an ubuntu live cd and start gparted from the command line.

something like this definitely seems the way to go. i'm using scponly with chroot. scponly is an alternative 'shell' (of sorts) for system administrators who would like to provide access to remote users to both read and write local files without providing any remote execution priviledges.

bittorrent client for ubuntu ?

this had been a real issue for me when i moved to linux full-time. i'm very pleased with rtorrent. it's cli with menus and can be setup to monitor a directory and automatically download .torrent files saved there.

Best file format to use

kinda late i guess, but i figured i'd chip in. i've been very happy with using ext3 on a drive and mounting in windows using the Ext2 IFS. i had so much data that fat32 was just way too slow.

whr-g54s with dd-wrt is awesome. mine's acting as a bridge off my netgear using this method. one thing, though, you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation if you remember you're using WLAN access lists and modify accordingly (doh!).
