Hot Topics Not Working In "My Forums"

Additionally, (i forgot earlier).. "My Forums" doesnt seem to list anything that I posted on the right side like the old forum did, so I have no way of following up on topics that I had posted in the day before.

Yeah i checked that feature all the time, i thought it was the best feature of the forum, I havent seen any other boards with a feature that combines the hot topics from ALL forums into one list like that. I don't really browse here anymore because of the change.

Other thing: Are there any programs that will allow software cooling with this motherboard and 3-pin fans? Speedfan = no dice. Thanks. EDIT *** sweet, Speedfan will work with this motherboard, just set Fan cooling to Disable in bios, then in speedfan go to advanced options...

Since all DS3 comments are supposed to go in this thread: I don't know if this is an "enthusiast" board, but if it is, it's the worst one ever made. I can say this solely based on the placement of the Reset CMOS location, as every enthusiast has a monster card which takes up two slots...

Why is my CPU making strange noises?

This is caused from overvolting your board. The thing that is squeaking isnt your CPU, its one of the components on the motherboard, and I can't remember which but i think it is the copper thing with the coils of wire. Supposedly if you get some epoxy you can glue it down so it doesnt sqeak as...

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3)

I'm interested in this as well, I was just about to order the DS3 and saw the 1.3 revision up there. By the way, are there any C2D boards with overclocking performace that offer a 1394 firewire connection, besides going up to $180 for the asus p5b? Thats my only grudge against this DS3.

Using your keyboard to boot your computer: HOW TO?

There is a setting in some BIOSses in which you can set the computer to toggle on by mouse click or keyboard input. Just load your bios and check the basic settings menu and it might be there, usually in the same menu that specifies the 'key repeat rate' and 'display post screen' I believe.

DFI-Street and DFI Corp go separate ways

This is completle bullsh1t that DFI would do this. The knowledge base on DFI is huge, and it is the primary reason I bought their board in the first place. Shutting it down is the biggest mistake they could make IMO, so much so that I wont even consider buying DFI anymore without that user...

Any advice on where to get free hd content

http://www.gwchannel.tv/ streaming HD video trailers, movies ect it requires powergrid which takes a couple seconds to install. 'the 300' trailer and transformer trailer are particularly amazing. especially since it buffers in under 10 seconds for what is at least a 2 megabit stream.

intermittent standby sounds like screwy motherboard to me, but when a system is already messed up and then you add more hardware, it adds so many variables that it just makes it that much harder to isolate the problematic component. if you have a rig that works you can try to test out...

Did you at first find LCD image quality very bad?

I find the LCD nicer for certain tasks but has clear flaws. I love web browsing and anything dealing with text or digital icons on an LCD. Non-FPS dependent games look great (ones that dont need more than 40-60 fps). Basically all RTS or MMO games. Movie viewing and high FPS dependent...

LCD Buyer's Guide

i went for the benq fp93gx since i play alot of games... It has it's problems but I think it was a good deal. this thread helped a bit in my decision so I brought some feedback. good: -fast enough to handle FPS games (not liquid like 100FPS synced to a 100HZ CRT was, but still pretty nice)...

I am SO confused about headphones...

i'd say grado sr-60 or sr-80 or up if you don't walk around with headphones in public much. edit: actually closed-cup would be much better for gaming. something with alot of bass is fun for gaming too I think you would be more happy with.

Guy at UCLA computer lab gets tasered (now with youtube video!!)

Based on the video, it looks like the guy was continuing to sit on the floor and NOT leave the building, basically getting tazered multiple times because he wouldn't leave. Now whether the first shot at him was justified, I couldn't tell from the movie. And if the shot prevented him from moving...
