That's a shame. Thanks for the advice, though. I'll have to see if I can trade it to someone for an Intel board, I hate to see a G0 Q6600 running at stock.

So I picked up the combo in the thread title for real cheap to add to my Folding@Home cluster, but I can't get the stupid thing to overclock at all. The BIOS that came with the board stalls flat at 1200FSB, and no other BIOS I've tried can even boot successfully at 1200FSB. I've tried jumping...

Actually it was a 896MiB GTX260 when it was brand new, but when my power supply exploded and murdered my video card and motherboard (and was the catalyst for me upgrading to Sandy Bridge... imagine running WoW on a P4 2.66B + 9800 Pro for three weeks while I waited for the chip to be released!)...

Voodoo2 SLI issues....

I could do that in a pinch, I guess, but the system I'm gonna be using them in is gonna be acting as a firewall on my network as well as a light gaming machine, and 98SE isn't the most secure/stable OS in the world. I've HAD these cards running under 2K Pro before, but it's been a couple years...

Voodoo2 SLI issues....

No problem. The GF2 system isn't even my main, so I don't care too much if it slows down. I'm just trying to get these cards operational, as with the Voodoo3... I just got this card (clocked 143/143), and used to use a 166/166 Voodoo3 that was leaps and bounds faster than this card is. UT99...

G.Phreak: The object is not to outpace the GeForce2 Ultra. They'll be going in a setup paired with a nice happy TNT2 Vanta LT, I don't think they'll be having much trouble outpacing that, thanks for the help. KP2003: I'll look into it. Any way to check BIOS revisions or flash the cards...

Voodoo2 SLI issues....

The Voodoo3 runs, and 3dfx's drivers install, but in UT99 it's slower than software mode when there's a lot of action on-screen. Even with no bots, looking at the ground at 1024x768 only gets 50fps at lowest details. Quake III Arena is also extraordinarily slow, but the resolutions switch...

I have a Voodoo3 I'll pop in there right now, as well as a Rush, but if the V2s don't work properly I don't think the Rush will. Back in 15.

256MB GeForce FX5700 >OR< 128MB ATI Radeon 9600XT

Might as well get a used TNT2... if you play any games at all, Dangerous, go for the 9600XT, it's worth the twenty bucks, since it can run with the much higher-clocked 5700 Ultra, and win in AA/AF situations.

Newbie OC Question. Plz help out

It'll probably SAY DDR400 but will be running at DDR454 speeds. Download SiSoft Sandra and run a memory bandwidth test, that'll tell for sure... run a test with your system at 200FSB and another test with it at 227FSB, both with 2:1 memory ratios. You should see a big boost going to 227FSB.

Why is intel so much more stable than AMD?
