FX5700LE 256MB vs. TI4600 128MB

He said he changed the slider to full performance with no results. I thought about the timing issue on the cpu side, but both sticks i believe are just generic 2700. The main issue is the graphics score, and I dont think the ram would have that much effect on it.

SLI mix&match from different brands possible?

I think i read that is possible if both cards are of the same reference design. As long as the cards have the same hardware (ram, gpu core, and probably the same BIOS) I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work. The only thing that distinguishes one card from another is the BIOS.. the...

ram should have little to no difference in a 3dmark05 score.. i think 3d'01 and maybe '03 were helped by cpu/ram stats a little, but '05 is a video hardware only test.

Well i tried the dualdvi bios.. the monitor only works in the one dvi port, not in the other.. is it not supposed to work unless i have 2 montiors installed? also, the clocks are 350/1100 stock.. is that intended also? any other changes that were made?

Yeah corecenter is crap.. and MSI boards will undervolt your CPU by ~1 volt or so, use MBM for a more accurate monitor.. other than that, the MSI Neo2 is a fantastic board.

mobo fan making noises

the northbridge is the controller chip for your ide devices and stuff like that, its not something that should get too hot under normal use.. some mobos dont have any cooling solutions on them, some use a small passive heatsonk and some use the fans

IS THE TOTURE TEST OPTION 2 IN PRIME 95 ENOUGH?

and this is another case that helps prove that prime is not be all end all of stability tests.. there are many factors that can affect its performance and reliability, including but not limited to drivers.

a stock LE that is running like it should is still faster than a stock GT.. yes its not a huge deal, but for overclocking enthusiasts, the potential gains from an LE are much greater.. however it is rule #1 that nothing is guaranteed.. if you can only run stock speeds then you got what you paid...

The "it wont run at ultra speed so im rma'ing" isnt occuring as often as you make it out to be.. and you are making it seem like this is the only issue with the card. 99% of the people with problems are having problems running at STOCK ADVERTISED 325/1100 speeds.

No, they were indeed listed as 325/1100.. i wish i had the spec sheet still, but i lost it in a HD change.. maybe someone else here has it on hand to link. I am positive that the memory was advertised as 1100 though. Otherwise they wouldn't have come with DDR3 ram chips. I have yet to see...

Making Sure the Correct HAL is Installed

Its not too hard to go from ACPI to standard PC just by changing it in the device manager and changing your BIOS setting, but going from standard to ACPI is nearly impossible without a repair or full reinstallation of the OS.

turn em off.. there is no performance gain for using them on a modern system, and the stability increase is well worth it if any (maybe 0.3%) performnce is gained. well if you have zero issues with your card, you can leave em on if you want, but if anything screwy happens that you cant...

nvidia 6800 GT over heating problems

the threshhold on a 6800 is up around 115-120 degrees.. i wouldnt worry if you arent crossing 100 at any point. mine idles around 54-64 depending on room temp and what ive done on the comp lately, and gets up to mid 80's under load
