$1200 Skyrim gaming rig, any suggestions?

Swapped in that combo. Only 4 SATA ports though (Unless I'm reading that wrong). Burner, SSD, 2 Harddrives and I'm full. Although I am assembling my old system as a backup server with some harddrives in it. I have two WD Greens already, older models though, have served me well. Perhaps...

Yeah, I kept hearing how great Ridata/tech media was until me and my roommate have had whole crops of burns go bad, it isn't like 10-20% it's more like 80% of my burns have Cyclic Redundancy Errors that have cropped up a month or so later. I've lost a ton of data from this.

I've heard these things have a very high failure rate. My roommate's GF's Razr's screen is currently fritzing...so YMMV...but hey, it is a good deal on the price.

AM2 or CPU upgrade... GAH!

Spending more than 400 bucks on a processor is a waste of money. What a lot of people are telling you and your not really listening too is the fact that you can just buy a 300 dollar Opteron 165 and overclock it. On air, without any additional cooling/power/voltage you can get at LEAST 2.2 GHZ...

AGP upgrade(Beating the Dead Horse)

I disabled the extra vertex shader making it 16/5. All the artifacts disappeared with only a tiny hit in speed. Going from 12to16 pipelines hasnt caused any problems...yippie. 3dmark05 went from 4200 to 4750. Now Ill try overclocking it.

Well, I actually found a decent deal on craigslist for a evga 6800gs, paid the guy 150 for it. Now I could probably have gotten a slightly better card for that price or found it online cheaper, but this was local, quick and so far it works perfectly. HDR in Oblivion looks wonderful too...

Why does there seem to be no performance increase?

Lets just face it, although Oblivion is very pretty, the game runs like ass on every computer. Its amazing how adjusting one little slider like grass can double or half your framerates.

Newegg is like 8 or more dead pixels, their policy on lcds sucks. Tigerdirect will apparently replace for any dead pixels, but I havent had this confirmed first hand.

RAM in GAME

From what Ive read going from 512>1gig of Ram does give you a little jump in performance. 1gig>2gig doesn't give much of any.
