Winxp Issue - Drive Letters Keep Getting Messed Up!

Microsoft XP64 Bit Drivers, Beta and Availability . . .

D1gger - lots of us are running WinXP 64 on athlon 64 no problem. Take a look at http://www.planetamd64.com/dlo...category&cat_id=10 to see if you can find your driver is there. My K8V needed a few workarounds but now works flawlessly. Enjoy!

RE: To those who own a K8V SE Deluxe, which value ram will work?

Just a quick update. I bought the Ultra 512MB (which is rebranded Nanya ram, btw). I am running it at 2-3-3-6 1T with no problems what so ever. I may have to relax the timings a bit, because I am hitting OC limits at this point. Not bad for $60 shipped!

I wouldn't ... simply because if you install it as the primary OS, it will "own" the c: drive (boot). Your winxp pro would have to be installed on anything but c:. Doesn't mean much that I could think of right now - simply used to having my primary OS on c: (and so are most people). Then...

KCBALTZ - haven't played enough yet. I will let you know in a bit. I would guess that 32 would prob be better simply because the drivers have been optimized there where as A64 drivers are not yet perfect.

Hi folks - I've gone through an captured all the inputs for the K8V-DELUXE 1008 BIOS and put them in a spreadsheet. I have found this useful in the past for tweaking etc. Could also be a nice way for you to pass settings and tweaks to other users. Enjoy!

Microsoft XP64 Bit Drivers, Beta and Availability . . .

I've had my machine and and running on dual-boot XPProSp2/Xp64 and everything is silky smooth. Even play DOOM3 on both, no problems (just install on 32bit and then on the 64bit install simply map all the drives the same, everything worked). Good luck w/ it!

Well folx, finally got EVERYTHING running! Dual booted Xp and XP64 on SATA. Latest Bios, Drivers (VIA, Marvell, etc). Once I got over the hardware issues (read old posts) it was just my nVidia GeForce FX that was causing me problems. Believe it or not, an unpgrade to WinXP Sp2 did the trick...

Asus K8V SE Dlx suddenly sluggish, anyone else experience this?

Not an expert on the RAM - but your config may be keeping it from running at full DDR400 - seeing as how you are only using PC2100, you may be getting even worse mem performance than just one stick alone.
