Just did some hot swapping and default setting and now it shows the SSD drive but not the hard drive in boot priority. Thinking this won't last. Bios clearly has a huge bug, just surprised there isn't more complaining.
Just ran a google search. Appears to be a common problem with Asus z97 motherboards. There is no solution. Most people try reflashing the bios and get it going, but only temporarily before the problem comes back. I wasn't sure about getting an Asus board because I dropped them years ago...
Thanks. Yeah, I did try swapping SATA cables around last time with the same result. The bios is one behind, but the new one says it adds new processors. I'm a bit scared to try flashing the bios given the current problems.
Been having issues with an Asus Z97-e since I got it just over a month ago.
Programs will start to load up, then just freeze with the logo up. I'd reboot, then I'd be stuck at the "Asus...In Search of Incredible" (ironic). My keyboard and mouse won't work, can't get into the bios. If I...
I've had two "n" routers die on me within a year and a half (one was the Linksys you have and the other the WRT320). What I'd do if I were still looking for a wireless router would be to pick up anything (pref. not Linksys) under $25 and toss them when they crook. You can get some good refurbs...
My need for the router wasn't as great as the lure of a great deal (got it for $99cdn). Since it disappointed, I took it back intending to try another, but the Staple's people were so bad, I changed my mind and took the refund they offered. I'll start all over again once we're moved and...
I tried the n66u in 20mhz and in 40mhz, the receive band appeared 'weak' in both. All I can say is for what I used it for (access the internet) the 54g is far better. All the problem of slowly downloading webpages and missing images are now (mostly) gone. I'm thinking their was either a bug...
Put my WRT54g back on, and all the problems vanished. The lagginess I've been experiences went away (the reason why I started checking out latency, etc). Took the router back.
Thanks again for the help Joe and ch33zw1z!
Yes, done that many times. My internet is 20Mbps which even my 54g router handles with ease.
Tried that a few days ago, got around 110-115Mbps when transmitting, 90-100Mbps when receiving, this was consistent with the Link Speed.
Thanks, I'll try that.
Its urgent because today was the last day I can swap it if there's a problem. Anything with a router that doesn't look right causes me concern because I've had two "n' routers die on me in the past year. It looked to me like the Receive radio had issues as its so far below the Transmit.
Just don't know why the Transmit is way more than the Receive Link Rate, consistently. I'd think they'd be close or the same. Nothing seems to change that. Again, I'm talking Link Rate here, not transfer or throughput rate.
Yes. I know. But I'm asking about the Link Speed. Why would the Transmit Link Speed be giving me the theoretical full speed, but the Receive Link Speed is about half that?
Thanks but I'm not sure what you said.
When I tested copy time between two computers, when running at 40mhz, the transmit was around 120mbps, when receiving it was around 100mbps.
The Transmit Link Speed is always solid, which I think fits with what you said, but the Receive jumps around...
Been searching for an answer to this for weeks and haven't found anything.
Early this month I bought an Asus RT-N66U. When checking speed using my wireless adapter app, it tells me my Transmit Link Speed is 300Mpbs at 40mhz and 144Mbps at 20mhz. But my Receive Link Speed is 240 (or...
Its a two pin connector. Couldn't find any replacement on eBay but I do have an older fan from another video card but the cable is too short (slightly different amp rating too). Was going to connect the case fan to a regular Molex connector and run at full speed.
The fan on my fXf 4870 video card is driving me nuts. I contacted FXF about it ages ago and they can't replace the fan but wanted the entire card. Would cost me more than its worth to ship so I've tried doing what I can to fix it which isn't much (there's no opening to apply oil, etc). Will...
I've run a bunch of tracert searches and they all end with about ten "Request timed out" replied then "Destination net unreachable". Yet I can reach all of them in my browser. Any ideas?
I'm having the same issue as this person, I also have RAID setup in bios and installed the RAID drivers during Windows 7 installation:
Any ideas how to fix it?
The first part makes sense, but I'm not sure what you mean by "seems like you loaded AMD ACHI drivers after removing the Kingston drive". The Kingston HyperX drive hasn't been removed and the older "V" drive hasn't been reinstalled.
Just put this new drive in my system, bench market it and I'm getting about half the speed that people in reviews and elsewhere are getting. I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong. Here's an sample:

When I first tried to install Windows 7 (64 bit) it...
I've just bought two Coolmaster 120mm fans that move 76.8CFM of air (4-pin so I can let the mb handle the speed they run at). They're the same ones that come with the Hyper212+ I believe. Plan to put on on the front and the back. Hoping that'll do it.
I have a very narrow case, about 7" across, and I'm tempted to go with another case but don't really want the extra expense. Was thinking that maybe with less space for air to be sitting, a narrow case might actually be the better option. No?
This is the case...
See post #30.
At this point, if I ship it all back, I'm giving up. Everything goes back to before the upgrade and I'm looking at Dell's and Apples.
Thanks.
Update. Shipping it back...no one can figure out what's up and they're being pretty cool about the entire thing. Think I will give...
They released a new bios yesterday...was hoping it would take care of these issues. Didn't. Got a bsod and a spontaneous reboot shortly after. Anyway, if it were an incompatibility with the ram (as the tech suggested) you'd think it would have been addressed in the new bios.
