Thank you for the advice everyone. I'll have her try the framerate settings and see if that works. If not, then i suppose its time for a new PSU.

The CPU temps dong go higher than about 40-44 degrees while playing and the GPU temps don't go higher than 76 degrees while playing. It could very well be the PSU then, but I just wished it wasn't so since it's a brand new corsair hx 650. Thanks again everyone for your input.

It just happened again in the middle of a starcraft 2 game. the monitor doesn't lose signal, but the computer shuts off, as in the fans stop spinning and everything, and then it turns back on again. hmm...

Which is the best 120hz gaming monitor out there?

I think this is a good point, since there are many gamers out there that plan on using these 120hz monitors for strictly 2d gaming and won't touch the 3d aspect at all (me being one of them). Nonetheless, we can all still benefit from this info for future reference.

Yeah, I'm considering the z68 non pro version since it does have this feature. If I go this route, I will probably just keep my 2600k and not opt for the 2500k+p67 mobo deal. Thanks again for all the feedback.

i suppose i'm pretty much going for the pro for the intel lan, since i don't have any current plans to go sli or crossfire. maybe i just wish the intel lan was available on one of the lower end boards.

Which is the best 120hz gaming monitor out there?

Did you tweak the settings for your benq? I hear that the monitor is quite good, but only after you've changed all the out-of-box settings. On another note, the only standard i have to go by is my benq g2400 24" monitor. I know the 120hz monitors will be very fluid as far as gaming goes...

Thanks for your input everyone! Based on reviews, it seems the benq is the way to go for straight up fps games, although the settings must be changed because of the terrible out-of-box settings. I was about to pull the trigger on the asus, but since it's a glossy screen, i'm a little worried...

I definitely agree that there are usability issues when it comes to the screen resolution and keyboard. It seems like the only way to get culv+optimus is by coming up with an extra $300-$400, and of course by then, yes, there are fully powered i3 models in that range. Otherwise, you're stuck...

Yeah, I know how you feel jvisaria. I am in need of one right now, too, but it would have been nice if it at least had bluetooth 3...not to mention, AMD's Zacate looks like it is worth waiting for with its sub $500 market. AMD might be a winner here, but waiting for it is hard.

Thanks for the advice. I was looking at both the UL20ft and the 1830t momentarily, but ultimately what steered me away was that extra $100 increase in price. My budget is pretty tight right now, but it seems like my best bet is to wait unless one of these machines substantially drop in price...

I'm sorry, but I'd have to agree with Magnus. These machines wouldn't be considered money well spent. You're better off looking at offerings from asus,acer, and dell.
