When I first got my 2005FPW, I though that it was too short and deceided to return it. I got it on a friday, so used it over the weekend and monday morning when I got to work and looked at my old monitor, something seemed not quite right. When I got home that night and looked at the 2005fpw...
Good catch! I didnt see that. That is a good question, I am sure they have a 7800 series card that they could have used? It will be interesting to see the comparison with a newer nvidia card.
I have to agree with you here. Its a hobby and people can spend what they want. The same people who say its a wast of money, drive off in expensive cars to go to the store to buy cigaretts or expensive jewelry.
Sorry, been out of the loop for awhile, busy with the kids, and my dad is visiting, and any spare time is actually playing games. If I understand you cannot over clock the memory, but the core will?
Thats pretty much what I was saying above. I dont want them to wait just so I could feel better about my XT longevity. If they were to wait, then nvidia could wait and we would stifle innovation. If ATI didnt release the XT do you really think nvidia would have released the GTX512? So by ATI...
As an XT owner I would not care. I knew when I bought the XT that nvidia would have something faster soon, and they do, and I also expected that they would have a faster PE version, which they still may. The R520 was Late. Releasing the R580 In January puts them back on track for product cycles...
From what i have heard, this is a super fast board, and I have heard from reputable sources, i.e. sampsa at xtremesystems. He expects SLI stock to break 18k in 05. Thats just awesome! I hope ATI will counter and the cycle will continue, as we all will benifit from that. The one thing that is...
The thing that bothers me is that we have now had several reports that the 7800gtx 512 drivers that ship with the card do not work. Are they rushing to make a release date? I find it hard to beleive that they didnt know that it doesnt work right. There are new drivers that fix it, and...
XT or XL? Hard locks are usually the core and mem is artifacts. My xl stopped at 600 mem unless I increased the gpu core voltage. XL is rated to 700 mem and xt is 800, but you may have to increase the core voltage to get there, and even then who knows. (my XL would not go over 621mem no matter...
The more I think about it it just doesnt make sense. If you can sell a ton of any product, why limit yourself to just a few, just to raise costs? Why not lower cost and sell more for a total higher profit.
I think the INQ is way wrong on this one. If there are low quantities, its probably due...
I do plan to eventually raise the core voltage, but I want to see other results. I would like to know if I have a good card, average, or worse than average, which is usually what i get.
The temps I am reporting are the correct temps. Temps were fixed with 5.10a which is what I am running. I beleive these cores are safe to at least 100c, so temps in the 70c's is nothing to worry about.
I have a 120mm fan at full speed and the chipset fan (Ultra-d) and at full speed the XT is much louder than anything in my case, its pretty loud, that said, during normal gameplay it never really gets that loud, about the same as the X1800XL.
The games I am playing right now are BF2 and Quake4. In BF2 I have all setting maxed and have never seen it go below 50FPS @1680x1050(it maybe going below, but I dont see it) its usually hovering around the mid 80FPS and running at 99.9FPS sometimes as well. As far as quake 4, I havent figuerd...
Although I agree with what you are saying, at launch all cards should be available and that there may be few of the x1800xt's available, but I think that there is enough for anyone that wants one today, should be able to find one relativly easy.
i love how you ignored the fact that members here have walked into retail stores and paid MSRP or below for them!!!
How many? I counted 2 so far. That isn't exactly a good statistic.
And like I said, they aren't on retail shelves here yet.
The fact that most people on the board who...
So far I am impressed. At stock setting i can max BF2@1680x1050 and the lowest frame rate I have seen is 50 in a fierce fight.
Here are some 05 scores:
Stock 9099
690core 800 mem 9693
700core 800 mem 9756
