I'm curious how you guys treat your vital data. For me, I have a pile of source code, bookmarks and documents/work from college. Some bits of my source archive go all the way back 13 years (!)
Luckily all of my vital data together still amounts to probably ... oh... 300 MB or thereabouts...
Its a great idea to save. Boring, but you will really appreciate it when you need it. Especially with job uncertainty/temporary status and in between careers or whatnot.
I know that bread will tend to be crappy after you thaw it out, but in terms of overall time that you can leave it in the freezer...how long?
I had some in there for two months and want to know if its still [reasonably] healthy to eat.
Nope. But I dreamt that the devil came three times in a row. In the 2nd one he talked with me. I was raised protestant, but I don't consider myself religious by any stretch of the imagination. I attribute the whole thing to nothing other then loose brainwaves after a few long days of work...
Graduated with a 3.95 cumulative GPA and summa cum laude (from a 4.0 system). That is including my humanities credits :P:D (don't hate)
I work as a programmer now and have a nice house. Volunteer from time to time (unfortunately not for over a year now ... :/)
Hoping to return to school for...
I know that it [Engineering Physics] isn't a very widely popular major nor is it offered by all engineering departments.
Figured there is at least someone on ATOT who is majoring in it ?
Or perhaps not. It is quite hardcore looking at some of the curriculum...I'd imagine you wouldn't have...
Its a toss up between Anna Malle, Holly Body (before she had nasty face surgery) and Celeste (the brunette with the hoo-hoos...wait, all three are brunette with big hoo-hoos!)
I can't find any clothed pictures of them :D
Well I have been thinking on and off about the validity of accusations that the black suffering in New Orleans has been largely ignored because "white america" doesn't care--that it is tolerable and acceptable to a degree more than any white suffering.
A little bit about me:
I grew up in a...
I don't know about most realistic because I've not been in a war.
However, my favourite war movie is The Thin Red Line. SPR is -way- overrated in my opinion. It depicts a very VERY narrow part of war.
BoB (mentioned above)is a good miniseries, but I still prefer The Thin Red Line over it...
Java is a great language. You can branch out and go into many areas with it.
Since you already have a little bit of programming experience, but lack object oriented concepts you should use these three books (in order):
1. Thinking in Java [3rd edition], Bruce Eckel. The third edition is...
Funny you should mention that. I witnessed the EXACT same thing today and thats what had me write this.
The guy dropped off an old lady and she started asking about another bus route. He laughed and talked for all of about 30 seconds before some stupid old hag on the bus yelled "GET MOVING...
note:I grew up pretty sheltered in an upper class area and rarely had to go on public transit much less deal with some (not all) of the people you find on it. That all changed four years ago when I moved to Toronto for school.
I'm tired of seeing people treat bus drivers like sh!t. They...
Yeah. I go to a community college :) Honestly, my grade is a joke IMO. I put in the time, but I don't think its well reflective of my effort :D Community college grades aren't like "real" schools. At least not in terms of the difficulty of work.
I'm doing college full time (last semester... holdin a 3.95 baby!)
and also doing a correspondence course that I might fail due to misrepresentation on the part of the school (see this thread)
Thats EXACTLY what came to mind. Hrm, if I wrote it around the 20th of August? They definitely want a vacation during that time frame before it starts up again.
I'm just not sure what I can do. I'm such a timid person that raising hell would be...difficult. I'll have to do it though..
I just checked their 2005 guide and it says the same thing so their policy certainly hasn't changed. It states "one year to complete your course work and write the final exam".
Shes head of the correspondence division so that difficult.
I think I'll go and visit with the administrator of that facility/school. They have a principal-like person there.
Well August 27th 2004 I signed up for a correspondence course and paid the fee involved.
I was told (and I have the booklet/student guide which states the same in writing):
"From the date we process your course request, you have one year to complete the course work and final exam."
One...
By the way, the add listener code is in the "action" script box for the first layer (named:actions)
not in the 'display' layer nor in the buttons action script box.
Must it be set in another spot? I thought the button was globally accessible from the other layer's action script..
Yep I made sure, deleted the code and copy/pasted exactly as was too!
really weird
perhaps I should try another button type or would that matter? (im using component button)
I realize the problem is me and not Flash. Just trying to figure out WHERE though.
My eyes are sore...
I have two layers: 'actions' and 'display' both 1 frame long
On the 'display' layer I have a button component, buttonFooBar
In the 'action' layer actionscript, I added:
lo = new Object();
lo.click = function(evt){
trace("TESTING 1 2 3...");
}
buttonFooBar.addEventListener("click"...
The last time I checked, vivisection is the live disection of an animal. Sedated != dead. I'm sure it felt absolutely nothing while having its entire intestinal track being torn out.
Disections don't even belong in high schools. There is nothing gained from them. It has always been the same crap--cut your frog/pig/cat down the center, pull out the organs one by one and identify them. You don't actually do any research...
Where is the extra learning in that? You can...
Why didn't any students step up? I would have at least prevented it from happening.
I thought vivisection went out with unit 731? (Japanese testing on live Chinese)
Doesn't make a difference.
As long as you have over a 3.6 you're good to go.
I graduated with high honors (3.95) and it means nothing. Honestly.
Well, it will be helpful to get into grad school.. but you still need kick-ass references.
Edit: I do know what you're talking about...
Urine is pretty darn sterile the last time I checked. You'd get more germs touching the the faucets. It isn't dirty--you just believe it is ;)
Splashage is a non-issue for me. People must go at an akward angle for it to bounce back. That, or they are short ;)
I don't know where you...
Aging
I'm 22 and hate it already :P
I don't mind the money and responsibility--hell I enjoy living on my own. I just dread that I'll be in my 30s before I know it. From there it all goes downhill :P
- Get stuck with little snot-goblin kids because your wife needs to have them
- You...
