The monitor has 1 DVI-D connection. has anyone ever used an active adapter they can suggest for display port to DVI-D if that will get me the resolution?

My new Dell XPS15 has a mini display port and HDMI with Nvidia 525m graphics. My monitor is a 30inch 3007 Dell at 2560X1600. Is there any way to output from the Laptop to this resolution? active cables or something? or is it not possible to get to such a high resolution from these ports?

basic program to let me go from vhs to dvd video.

i was looking for some freeware or something cheap that i can use with my capture card to capture from a vcr and make dvds that will work in a regular dvd player. and easy solutions? these are just home videos not a profesional job. thanks.

i was thinking about sealed ones so i could keep out alot of sound, but was wondering if the open ones really don't let too much in anyways. both cans are over the ear, so they should keep out alot of noise, but are they both very different in that respect or not?

i have an optical output; S/PDIF on my chaintech vnf4 ultra and i was thinking of hooking it up to my stereo reciever. it this optical output any better than the regular output? does this optical output send a surround sound signal or stereo? i have only ever used one output like this years ago...

i have tried everything i can think of and nothing works. i was trying to install raid drivers but that seems impossible w/o a floppy. i did flash my bios with a boot cd but i don't think i can do that fot the raid drivers.

i was looking around for alternatives to raid and saw a thing about dynamic disks. is it possible or easy to mirror a set of disks in computer management. i want to mirror two western D. 200gb drives. has anybody done this, or is it no good?

when i put the cord on the right way, it does nothing, it won't light up even when i put a disk in the drive, when i put the cord on backwards it stays lit, so i know power is getting to the drive, but when i click on the drive in my computer it says that there is no disk. i have tried 2 drives...

when should i set up raid1?

i just ordered 2 w.d. 200gb hds for storage in raid1 and am using a seagate 7200.8 160gb for my programs and games. is it easier to set up a new windows instalation on the seagate and set up the raid at the same time, or should i just set up the raid seperately because i am not putting windows...
