Found out the problem. Stupid motherboard reads of the SPD to determine max speed. My Corsair is one of the early ones made before JEDEC approve pc3200. So I'm stuck at pc2700 speeds. Time to go find some new ram.

Can anyone help me in getting my corsair xms3200c2 to run at 400mhz? The highest this board can run the ram is at pc2700 speeds even with the ratio at 2:1. I've tried the 1004 and the beta bios with no avail.

get some OCZ EB 3700 platinum . tight timings at 250mhz at 2.9v Mushkin special is just BH6 which requires 3.2+ volts to have it shine.

Just lost a freakin' 160GB hard drive with ~140GB of data on it!!! ***Update*** Another 160GB drive DEAD!!!

no protection. you must be kidding. oem hard drives come in quantities of 20 from the manufacturer packed in foam. the only time drives are unprotected is when they are sold by the reseller. i doubt anybody working in a computer warehouse or reseller will be dumb enough to handle drives...

bump up the ram voltage to 2.7 or 2.8 and try again. BH5 chips like extra voltage.

S.M.A.R.T. and Drive Fitness: What's it mean?

Don't worry about it, I've had the same thing happen to a new seagate drive. Speedfan reports 40% drive fitness on my drive. Drive fitness takes the smart values from the hd and calculates how well the drive is doing. But, I think both samsung use proprietory smart values which messes up...

So I just built my little brother a computer that destroys mine

The board uses the Nvidia APU but it is not certified for soundforce because it lacks a digital out. Digital out can be purchased separately at epox's site for $18. It uses the realtek chip as a dac which sucks like crap. Now time for me to go find a decent digital receiver for this board .

How do you like your nforce2 audio?

Being tired of my sblive value and wanting something new, I decided to upgrade to an Epox 8RDA+ since everyone is raving about how good the sound is. But to my surprise, listening to my favorite cd's with my grado 80's, I can't believe how bad the audio is. Everything sounds so flat and dull...

Which KT333 or KT400 boards can overclock to 200FSB

The only ones I know are the Epox and the Abit kt333 boards. Is there any others that can reliably make it to 200 mhz?

Possible problem with solitaire

Did microsoft update W2K's solitaire cause when I finish a game, the cards jump out really slowly. The last time I'd play it was on w98 where the cards jump out at incredible speeds. So is there something wrong with my system or its a updated solitaire?

250 watt PSU..(duron 1ghz)

Got a XP 1800 here on a powerman 250. Rock stable. I have a DVD-rom, Radeon 8500, CD writer and a SB Live. One downfall is that it's limiting how much I can overclock.

FIXED. Weird CS problem, locks up after restarting the game

FIXED. After 4 hrs of troubleshooting, found out Unituner was buggy which was causing the lockup.

From a fresh boot, I can get into CS, play, and quit without no problems. But the second time I try to load CS, the program locks up at the menu screen. The mouse icon shoulds it is busy but it never finishes loading. It is very annoying. It means I have to reboot everytime I get a craving...
