NE1 out there doing optical searches w/telescope & software for new planets?

The Dob will not allow you to track without an add-on tracking platform. I have never used on, but I hear they can work well. Some have even made their own. Yet with any tracking system, for photography you need it to be very accurate. Especially for long exposure's rather than a lot of short...

Do you stick with a certain project...

After Seti Classic stopped, I stayed with CPDN for a while, and Rosetta. But Einstein has always been good to me, so I have stayed with it the longest. I like the project science, but it is also stable and fairly nice on my computers. I do switch a few comps to various projects fairly often...

What was the first machine in your farm?

The first that is not running... probably a TBird 750MHz or a 233 Pentium. Both would have been on Seti Classic. Oldest still running, P4 1.6GHz.

BOINC stats question

Yes, if they are all changed to same address. I did that recently. In fact, in my case I forgot the login info for 2-3 projects. So now the new email address projects have a new CPID and the old dont. Luckily the ones I didnt change only equal 3k credit or so. :)

My C2D Laptop crunches too. Yet I have found that a cooler pad that runs off of USB helps a lot. If not for the pad, I wouldn't run DC on it as I do not want any heat related wear and tear. And nice comparison biodoc. My lappy performs very well also, yet I cannot offer direct comparisons as...

Einstein has the power application out. I have seen anywhere from 30% to over 50% increase on workunit speeds. And you still get the same credit for less time, as the same amount of work is still being done. The application (4.36) can only be used on CPUs with SSE, but if you can it makes a big...

Your correct, CPDN units can fail from the starting variables, not just system stability. ;) Edit: I am doubting myself that they fail on variables too. I remember seeing that somewhere, but after I posted it I wanted to go check. Yet cant find anything definitive. Maybe Rattle can weigh in...

15 minutes is okay. The closest to "official" I have heard is anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. Rosetta progress is in sections. 1% is the first. :)

Thanks for stopping by Bok. I think the main issue was tracking new members to a BOINC team. It is not an issue with your stats, just for anyone trying to track it. Spacehead was using Boinc Synergy stats to determine who was new, but did not want to scroll through so many pages for our team...
