If I need a 120GB SSD this week, X25-M for $230 or 320 for $240? I'm not understanding why there's only a $10 difference between the two.
I don't have SATA3 ports and I'm willing to pay a bit of a premium for reliably, even tho a Vertex 2 120GB for $160 has got me wavering now.
Only notebooks I'm aware of with USB 3.0 are the Asus Bamboo series. U33JC (13") and U43JC (14"). They have 1 x 3.0 and 2 x 2.0 ports.
I was about to purchase the Asus U35JC (13", i3-370m) for $816 at Amazon because I really want the 13" form factor and don't want a DVD drive. Then I saw the...

I am in a similar situation to you. Right now the U30JC is at the top of my list, about $830-900 depending on which version/color.
Spec wise it blows the pants off the MBP 13. My only concern is how bad the...
Just to update my thread, I settled on MTU 1500, RCwin 1027840. To be honest, there was do discernible difference in my previous 1.5mbps internet settings and my current one.
Awesome, thanks again Jack :) I was looking forward to your reply.
edit: one more note, I have a gigabit switch hooked up to the router with 3 gigabit enabled pc's connected. Does this change any of the values you mentioned?
I recently had 24/3 Uverse installed and everything seems to work great. Tech said I'm only 700 feet away and had only 2% signal loss when they tested the line. Multiple speedtest.net tests confirmed 23/2.9, so I'm ecstatic.
I used TCP optimizer previously for my old 1.5mpbs connection. Do I...
Just to update my thread, I finally figured it out. PSU was fine. My AGP video card is loose or something. With the case open, if I jam the card in tight into the slot or wiggle it a bit, it will boot and operate fine. If I close the case tho, it's hit or miss on whether it boots up. The slot...
So I've reseated everything, replaced psu with a working spare, and still the same prob.
Regarding the video card question, I have a Radeon 9800 AGP installed. This computer does not have onboard video.
I don't have another AGP video card to test with, but a bad video card doesn't explain...
Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a shot when I get home from work tonight.
Just a couple of notes:
This computer doesn't have a reset button, just one power button.
I guess Dell uses a proprietary power supply for this box. The PS doesn't have a power switch so the case opening is only big...
I think my trusty old Dell SC400 is close to dying?
The computer powers on (hd light and power light on) but no display. No post, bios scroll or anything. The monitor acts like the computer is still off, monitor led blinks in standby mode instead of turning on.
Also, the usb keyboard...
For people interested in Asterisk, it can be run on certain routers. I have it set up on my Asus WL-520GU that I got for $30. Having an Asterisk server on my router that's already on 24/7 and uses less than 10W of power is nice...
No explicit confirmation that the Bravo/Passion is going to VZW, but it's the most logical destination. Holding off on my Droid purchase until January now...
I thought power line networking sucked, but a friend of mine just set one up for his parents' house. 6,000SF house, network jack/modem/router upstairs far room and getting a solid wireless connection downstairs was difficult. Running an ethernet cable wasn't an option so he tried out a powerline...

They also have a Win7 Starter with 250gb hd for $280.
Here's product spec link: http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668343.php
This looks like your typical 10" netbook except it includes a 6 cell battery (6-7 hours) which is...
For people asking for GV invites, have you tried signing up on the site? I've had about 10 friends/coworkers sign up and they all got invites. Took them between 1 day to 1 week max.

Basically paying full price on the Wii + Fit and getting a $50 GC for free. Wii is going to my nephews for Christmas. $50 GC going to me :)
Expires midnight, 11/22.
Your temps definitely seem kind of high. What is the vid on your cpu?
My vid is 1.18v. At stock speed, idle was around low 30s. At 3.8ghz I'm idling around 38-42C. Load is mid 50s.
If you're an existing Verizon customer not eligible for an upgrade yet, try calling 800-437-6136. Tell them you got a flyer in the mail saying you were eligible for an early upgrade and could get a Droid for $199.99 after rebate (or a Storm2 for $179.99) with a new 2 year renewal.
My coworker...
Not an app but my coworker, who's probably 38, changed his notification on his new Droid so it makes that Transformers transforming sound when he gets a msg or email. So childish and so awesome at the same time.
Dell usually has 24" 1080p monitors for sale at $180 (Dell or Samsung brand). I know it's above your budget but their return policy is pretty good.
I'm sure their 20-22" are much less but I never paid attention to those.
Here's what I found on "half length". Looks like 175cm or less?
There are three different kinds of PCI cards: Full-Length, Half-Length, and another type called "Low-Profile" or "Slim." Full-length PCI cards are 107mm (height) X 312mm (long). Half-length PCI cards are 106.68mm (height) X...

My brother just bought that ($257) and he wants to do some light gaming. What's the best performing (or best price/performance to match with a E5300) half height vid card available that would fit in that case? Thanks in advance for any help...
Man, I'm a pretty casual gamer. Used to be heavy into multi player when I was younger but can't manage the timesink now with two young kids. I enjoyed the single player campaign of COD4 and was looking forward to this. What a crock of shit.
Will the non-steam crack let me install it without...
Wow, WTF. So even if I go to a retail store and buy the CD's, I need to let it install Steam and activate it through there to play single player. Multi player I could understand sorta, but not single player.
I've seen some cheap Steam game deals but I've always held off since I did not want to...
Directly from Verizon, a 1 year contract adds $70 to the phone price. If you can get a 3rd party vendor to sell it under a 1 year contract, expect a similar price increase.
