Is there an easy way to share files between fedora and Winxp Professional?

no disrespect guys but i did say - i know being root is *wrong* but it was my last resort (given my null experience) that's not to say i'm glad of the help. any thoughts on my second point? thnkx again

1) sorry but why does linux put it's swapfile in a partition of it's own if ithis is such a bad idea? surely the arguement about head re-positioning over fragentation is a hardware thing and should equally apply to any os. 2) if you tell pq magic to make you a linux swapfile why does it...

Op dc++ client for Linux

can anyone recommend a good Op dc++ client for Linux please? i currently use dcdm++ on windows xp pro and i love it's features. something as near as poss to this would be ideal. a good bit torrent client would be nice also :) (currently using Azureus on win) thanks for your tiime.

can't install Linux to sata drv

when installing Mandrake 10.1 to a 2.5 gig partition (far bigger than i suspect any Linux install will ever be) on a sata drv it stopped just after looking for the sata (and other) drivers. so i increased the size of the partition to 4.5 gig - same stop. do i need to mess about with drivers on...

why is it that some of you include the caveat "present understanding of physics" (or words to that effect) whereas the rest are like the old Catholic Church and the Flat Earth Society. what we think of as "laws", i.e. nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, are just based on theories...

the bottom line is that no children should be subjected to smoking and therefore any smoking ban should start "whereever children may be present". this must include, but not be limited to, school playgrounds, sporting facilities, etc.
