Yeah, the larger Acer might be good, but since the resolution would be stuck at the native 1280 by 1024 then better off saving more money and go for the 17". Also, where does it say about 6bit color replication? what about the NU monitor? is it 8bit?

I tried to get 03 installed but each time there is a corrupted file and now the uninstaller is corrupted so I can't get rid to it and it doesn't work.. :( Anyway, I heard about something of Nvidia disliking 03, so Is 05 more of the standard being the correct year also? :D I'd just want to see...

Should I be worried?

I have discoved that the pipes of the 6800 are broken and can't be used(system hang), however the extra VS is fine, I have that unlocked and tried to play halflife with no visible difference. Does having this on improve performance that much or should I just try to turn it back off and save...

Which one would you pick?

Out of the 2, Asus is actually more expensive and feature rich, for only a bit more in those deals, the asus is somewhat of a steal, too bad they didn't offer a 90nm cpu though.

OK, WTF just happened..?

ALso, interesting to note that the disabled pipe is # 2 instead of the normal #3 from everybody else, kinda brings my hope down a bit, I'll try to do it one by one, but I'll do it later when my new HD arrives.

I had to struggle to return everything back to normal. Everything would hang every 2 seconds and then after a few hangs, it would restart. Anybody else experienced that? was it the VP or was it the pipes that would cause it? I did try to unlock both at once, has anyone had the same problem? is...

How to use Riva tuner to unlock the 4 pipes?

I had just gotten the new riva tuner 15.3 NY's edition as well as an eVGA 6800. I would like to know where in the settings do you go to unlock it and what to do to unlock it incase the pipes are bad. This is my first time having to use riva tuner, so big nub here. TY for your answer.

6800 GT 320$ 6800 230$ at microcenter

I just got it :D costed 251.99 total after tax.... oh well, atleast now I got my 6800NU from eVGA at lower cost that I would've had to pay online + shipping :D I'm not looking back, was going for a 6600gt, but now I'm happy. My Motto now is that if you get the hardware itch to buy, wait a month...

Will the cards of tommorrow still be released in AGP?

Maybe the rest of my specs might bottleneck the card, but atleast a powerful card will help in conquering next gen engines. It'll be a long while when the minimum requirements include an A64 3000+ & 1gig ram. Until then, I'd wait for the best for the money card arrives, I got the feeling...

Why stop at 1600 X 1200? Don't you crazy hardcore gamers able to afford the highest possible res. monitor? GPUs can go up to 2k res, why not go there? I'm sure there's monitors to support it, I dunno if games will though.

I hope so, I mean the newer cards will be out within this year, no doubt it'll be PCi-E, problem is that will there be a bridge for it? If Nvidia decides to pull what ATI did and just focus on the limited market, the majority(us AGP guys) are screwed. I just have a bad feeling about this.

LCD vs. CRT, is there really a good reason to spend the extra money?
