As someone said earlier, it's a talky space opera with crap for gameplay. After seeing it in action I lost all interest. Bioware seems more interested in making interactive movies than actual games.

VSync will always reduce your screen fps unless your video card is putting frames to the buffer faster than your refresh rate. Triple buffering offsets this by storing extra frames in the buffer while it waits for a refresh so that it doesn't have to drop any frames in the meantime. The lower...

Well, every developer uses a PC to actually make the games, so no PC means no games. CAD Simulation Programming Word Processing Presentation Internet and so on The only question is how much do you want to spend.

True, but if Crytek really cared about these things and wanted to keep a good reputation, they wouldn't have gone for EA as their 'partner'. So IMO, they are just as much at fault. I don't know how much pressure was applied by EA, but it seems like it was mutual.

I would still wait for the 1.2 patch, guys. 1.1 savegames will likely not be compatible with 1.2. The load times and autosaving may be tolerable at the beginning, but they *will* get on your nerves in acts 2 and 3.

Just finished Crysis...

It's possible to sneak or run by most of the enemies in the 1st half, except for the couple of times when a landing zone must be cleared. The 2nd half is a rail shooter which forces you to fight, but it's pretty short. Finishing in 4 hours or less is possible if you leg it and know exactly where...

Just finished Crysis...

Yup, I think I actually hit all of those bugs except the spawning dead one. The 'dead alien freezes in air and doesn't disappear' one was the most annoying for me. That, and not being able to target with the tac gun.

The Crysis Conundrum

The ice section does run considerably slower. Even with a 640MB GTS@650/1000, at 1600x1200, I had to turn off AA and set shadows to medium, as well as postprocessing to low (mainly because the motion blur gave me severe headaches). Even after that, we're talking 25-30 fps just walking around...

Vote for your Favorite Game so Far!

Totally subjective. FPS people would vote for Crysis/UT3/CoD4. RPG people would vote for The Witcher or Mass Effect (not a PC game though). At a minimum, there should be separate categories for each 'genre'.

Crysis gets 98% from PC GAMER! (9.5 from gamespot and 9.4 from IGN)

Brothers in Arms and OpFlash are two of the more realistically-inclined games I've come across when it comes to firearms handling.

I agree, though HL2 didn't "wow" me either. Both good games though. A shooter is a shooter. There's only so much you can do, mainly shooting things - people, monsters, aliens, barrels.
