High Performance Vid Bios

DVD Playback A8N-SLI

..... The only time the decoder showed up(the icon) was when I was playing a movie in Windows Media Player. When I played the same movie in Powerdvd and Windvd, the icon didn't come up, and I did see any of the options in both programs.

DVD Playback A8N-SLI

Well, I tried that decoder, it makes no difference. Like Duvie said, and I'm pretty sure as well, it's a driver/chipset issue. Either the video card driver, the chipset driver, or both. What lends me to believe this, is running NTUNE and having it do a Graphics Performance Benchmark fixes...

Yes, Hardware Acceleration is currently on. Tried it both ways, same result. I've tried WinDVD, PowerDVD, same results. Drivers I've tried with, 71.40, 71.80(current), and something like 66.93

A8N-SLI Deluxe nVidia nForce4 Chipset Drivers

WTF....Artic Silver voids CPU/MB warranty with Monarch?? PLEASE READ UPDATE!!

Well, I think that's poopoo too. Though, AMD 64 FX 55 states that if you use anything other than the supplied(POS) cooling fan they provide for their CPU, then that voids warranty. Geesh AMD, Sorry if I wanted to throw your POC away and replace it with watercooling and a paste thats made...

So far so good. This is heaven compared to that little zipper on the northbridge. System is really quiet, not the hard drives can be heard and man I never knew how loud they could be! haha. Just some more info for the chipset cooling. This is what I'm using right now...

Yeah, Koolance has one. So I went WC today. Seems ok so far. Getting around 32c on the cpu temp at idle. I'm not sure I trust that, but could be possible. From what I heard, in order for AS 5 to really take effect, requires like 200 hours for good thermal bond. *keeping fingers...

Im giving up on my Asus A8N SLI Deluxe... for the 2nd time.

In your bios, do you have your PEG LINKS set to anything other than AUTO? I set it to FASTER, and my computer kept locking up after booting into windows. Good luck

Are you sure those blocks for the video cards would fit? My friend works at a computer store building PCs and he said he tried those blocks on the PCI-X Ultra cards and that they didn't Fit. Would be interested in knowing your results.
