Eclipse + Vista = Nightmare

I'm slowly switching from XP to Ubuntu linux for developing at work. Because all the eclipse plug-ins work in linux as well as windows, there really is no reason for me to be using windows. So far I love it.

asrock dual sata2 vista drivers ?

I just tried installing vista last night on my dual sata2 board... I have 4 drives: 1 80 gb PATA, 1 250 GB on the SATA2 port, a 250 gb on a SATA1 port, and a 74 GB raptor on another SATA1 port. Vista install only detected the PATA & SATA2 drives - I think that it's a problem w/ the raid...

Splinter Cell Double Agent Graphics on PC

By grainy I mean that the image looks like I'm watching TV over bunny ears antena, and the signal isn't quite up to strength. Also, there is an 'L' shaped section of the screen where the image looks right, but the rest just looks terrible. The resolution it's on currently is 1280x960...16:10...

Splinter Cell Double Agent Graphics on PC

So, after repeated attempts, I can't play more than 30 seconds of DA - the graphics are terrible. Everything is incredibly grainy, and textures are mashed up everywhere. I installed the latest ATI driver, but no luck. I've tried turning everything off, and it looked like just a bit better...

"Error" inside Half life 2: EP1

Both Half life 2: ep 1 & lost coast have big "error" signs displayed randomly throughout the levels. I've searched google, steam, and here, and haven't found anything. How can i stop those signs from being shown? I'm running both @ 1680 x 1050 with 4x aa, hrd, and AF at different levels...

My Neighbor Is Stealing My Water

I haven't read all of the posts...but.... Get alot of weed killer/rock salt/etc, sneak over, and draw a huge 20 ft c*** and b***s on his lawn. Just imagine the implications of having a massive male genitalia across your back lawn.

AC Silencer 64?

I just purchased one from zzf for use in a mATX pc I'm building, on a Sempron 64 3100+. I'm really going for quiet as possible, and it looked like a good choice. Does anybody have one, and how do they like it? EDIT: PS - it's the silencer 64, not freezer... just FYI

web based vpn?

The setup I use for remote desktoping is as follows: I have a crappy old HP computer running ubuntu hidden away under a couch, which functions as a ssh server. I have my firewall port forwarding port 22 to it. To connect, I open up putty, connect to my house & create a tunnel that forwards...

So what IS the most frustrating video game in the history of video games?

Jurassic Park for the SNES... You need to collect all these id cards and equipment...they were never in the same place...i made maps!!!.....and there was no save. You also spent most of the game backtracking...which drove me nuts too

Critique this notebook please!

I'd recommend HP's business line...if you can get them cheaply. If you buy it direct from HP then they are way too expensive. IMO the build quality is very good, and it comes with a standard 3 year warranty (at least last time i checked).

Well, you probably already know who they are...if they refuse, just announce they don't have the balls to standup. say their names, and continue. They will probably stand up on thursday or friday. Have the principal in the class, just standing in the back. Mention serious, vague consequences...

Invalid CoA = No Windows XP activation! This is absurd!

I've never had good success with OEM copies... The way I see it, if you have a coa that magically doesn't work anymore, and they won't fix it, i find no ethical problems with using a pirated copy on that one machine.

Yeah, but for a screensaver to useful it needs to come on in under a minute or two....which means it will come on all the time for me when i'm sitting at my desk, which is aggrevating. The kindof users i have in mind to keep off the laptop are the kind that would never figure their way around...

Man waits 55 hours in the cold for Xbox 360, then promptly smashes it in front of crowd at Best Buy

I watched the long video with glee, relishing the setup, laughing at the BB employee selling a warranty....waiting for horrified looks from freezing parents and crying children....but no.....there were what...5 people in outside? "can i have your controller" was pretty funny tho...
