ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB Video Card for Pre-Order!

I had an Ati 8500 64mb le and now I have a Gainward ti4200 128mb. I'm not happy with the 2d quality and I'm thinking of replacing it with an Ati 9500pro when it comes out.

*HOT!* nForce2 review up on Tomshardware for first 3 M/Bs. Asus A7N8X looks like the AMD "King of the Hill"!

I'm also very interested in de sound quality. I want to connect my pc to my dolby digital receiver and I've tried everything with my soundblaster 5.1 but it didn't work out. I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard and the nforce 2 boards seem to have a spdif out option.

MSI Geforce 2 pro

I have a MSI Pro 64mb. Great fast, stable card, but the 2d quality isn't fantastic. If I could buy again I would chose the Gainward pro with 4,5 ns memory or else the Ati Radeon 64mb (check the hot deals forum for a great deal on that one).

(Abit KT-7 owner) should I upgrade to KT-7a or Asus A7V133?

A while ago I upgraded from a duron 700mhz with a Abit kt7 to a thunderbird 1200mhz with a Asus A7v133. I was very happy with the upgrade. Less irq problems and more overall stability.

I want to buy today. The Gainward seems to overclock very well. But I'm sure the Elsa won't fall behind too much when it comes to overclocking. The Gainward is $20 cheaper, but the most important thing is a possible difference in 2d quality. Elsa has a great reputation when it comes to 2d, but...

Radeon LE, IDE Raid, Win2K?

I have the MSI Geforce Pro 64mb. Very fast for 3d, but not too great at high resolutions on my 22" Iiyama. I see you have a 17" monitor, so I think you won't have to worry about 2d problems. The Pro is fine for watching dvd's for me, but I've heard the Radeon is a bit better with dvd...

Good post Bestilll. I would use the 7200 rpm drive to run my operating system and programms on and use the 2 60gb drives for storage. So no raid. Read Bestill's post for the videocard choice.

warm deal on a retail Ati Radeon 64mb vivo - $153 plus $5 shipping

www.overclockers.com tests Glaciator, SK6 and the Swiftech. wonder who wins??

Thanks Platinumgold I'm going to choose between a Swiftech 462A with a 80mm Panaflo H1A (39.6 CFM, 32 dB-A)and a Thermalright SK6 with a YS-Tech FD1260257B-2A fan (25,9 CFM, 36 dB-A). The Glaciator is not available here in Holland. Which of the two would give me the best performance?

I wonder how the SK6 performs with a less aggressive fan. I'm in the market for a new heatsink, but it's really hard to make a choice between these three. I've read somewhere that the noise of the delta is more tolerable on the SK6, is this true?

Thermaltake 60mm fan that pumps out 31cfm at only 28dba???

Somebody has experience with this fan? Seems to be a great combo with the Termalright sk6.

I have this case. Yes, you can slide the side panels off seperately, but only after removing the top. It has a slide out m.b. tray which is really great. A huge downside of this case is the terrible airflow. When you put two fans in the top they won't have any use besides cooling the harddisks...

Thunderbird temperatures on an Asus A7V133

My temperatures are quite bad. I have a Thunderbird 1200@1400, 1.8volt and the temperatures are about 54c idle and 59c full load. When it gets really warm in my room (about 30c) my computer gets unstable and I'm forced to downclock it to 1350mhz with default voltage. I'm using a Taisol 742092...

Who Makes Your Geforce2 and How is the 2d Quality? What Res?

I have the MSI Geforce 2 Pro and I'm running at 1280X960. Well, the 2d isn't that good. It's readible, but your eyes get tired after an hour or so of 2d work. The text seems to look somewhat blurry and not bright. And I don't need a pair of glasses ;) Somethimes I set the resolution lower to...

MSI StarForce 831??? Is It a GF2 Pro? If Not, Which To Get???

Yeah, it's a great card for overclocking. I'm at 230/450. Still trying to get it slightly higher. This a very fast card for a great price.

32mb v 64mb GeForce2s ?

I think the Pro is worth it, especially at the current price. I upgraded from a Creative 32mb GTS to the MSI 64 mb Pro card and I feel it's worth it. Now if only the 2d quality would be better...

The price isn't that bad for a new IBM harddrive. $155 for the 40gb shipped at Newegg.com But I'm waiting for a hot deal and than I'll buy two of them for raid ;)

MSI StarForce 815 GeForce 2 GTS?

A friend of mine has the MSI mx and it is pretty good (can overclock high). Buy the MSI GTS from Newegg.com, it seems to be the best deal for a GTS.
