Which DVD+RW burner should I buy?

If you have the proper software and more than one burner (CD or DVD) can you burn more than one disc at a time?

Antec TruePower430 w/ Asus P5AD2-E

I have an Antec TruePower 430 Watt PSU on order. My Asus P5AD2-E manual says that 20-pin PSUs are compatible with the board, but will I also need some sort of converted to power my X800XT PCI-e graphics card?

Yeah...that's computers for ya. This'll definately be the most powerful computer I've ever owned considering the level of the components I'm putting in it for its time. The system I'm on now (Pentium III 1.0 GHz, 512 MBs SDRAM, GeForce 3) is entirely SCSI and runs like a tank. I'll miss SCSI...

WD raptors dying like flies!

Are SCSI drives physically-built to better standards? I've had the same three 9 gig SCSI drives for almost 5 years, extensive abuse, no problems (knock on wood). Although, the 36 gig 10k Quantum Atlas I had for A/V scratch went bad after about 3 years, but jeez, I used the hell out of that thing.

Thank the leftovers from my student loan. Oh, and the P5AD2-E has built-in Wi-Fi and Firewire-800...great for external hard drives. I know the P5GA2 has is also, but jeez, I just had to get the most expensive thing out there. If only I had the extra cash for the Extreme...

Well, the extreme edition is nearly $1000, and I just don't have that in the budget... However, I did have it in the budget to get an Asus ATI X800XT PCI-e graphics card. 3.4 GHz, the Asus card, and two gigs of RAM should do me right. Plus, I wanted to get the 3 PCI slots that the P5AD2...

Pretty much. I clicked the link for that Gigabyte card, and that site doesn't look too legitimate. They don't even accept credits (although they claim to, their "processor is down," apparently). I went ahead and splured for the Asus model at Zipzoomfly.com (as soon as they came back in stock...

Antec PSU with Intel 925 XE Chipset...

I recently ordered an Asus P5AD2-E motherboard using the Intel 925 XE chipset. With it I also ordered the Antec TruePower 430 Watt PowerSupply Unit. Does this PSU have the right connectors to connect with this motherboard?

I would really like to put an Asus PCI-express ATI X800XT graphics card in the new computer I'm building, and I know where I can get one, but supply-and-demand price gouging has made the asking price $640. Should I be patient and wait for the prices of these ultra high-end cards to come down...

Specs For A Basic Video Editing PC?

I've used both Avid Xpress DV and Adobe Premiere extensively. I started on Premiere, and I went in kicking and fighting Avid, but now I prefer Avid, hands down. It is a much more mature program, has powerful tools, a an extremely simple and fast interface. Avid is all about keyboard short...

^How much is Nero again? Nero has built-in support for DVD burning, as well as CD-Rs, right? I'm pretty sure Avid's encoder is quality. We've been using it at my film school for some time now and I've never noticed any problems.

I would add another hard drive for music, pictures, video, etc. I doubt 36 gig would be enough for you system alone.

Confused about Memory with Motherboard...

I'm looking into getting the new Asus P5AD2-E i925XE motherboard. I'll be sticking an Intel Penitum 4 3.4 GHz (550) processor on it. Does it matter what speed DDR2 memory I put on it? (i.e. 400 vs. 533). If I choose a faster memory, do I have to overclock the processor? Thanks!

All this bring said, I can I trust Mwave.com brand memory? I want to get two 1 gig sticks so that I have the other two slots on this motherboard free for future expansion.
