So keep the mobo I have, switch out the cpu, gpu and go from 2X2gb to 2X4gb ram? Sounds good to me. Will I get a big performance boost, something like 30% or so?

I just bought that gigabyte mobo. There may be an issue with the location of the sata ports getting blocked by the gpu cooler. The 6850 I ordered is on the way so I can't say for sure. Something to consider before you order.

I've done everything I can at this point I think. It is currently able to run for about 10 minutes before it dies. If I wait a few minutes it will either start up and run or spin the fans a little and quit. I ran speed fan and the temps seem fine. I'm going to assume it's a bad power supply...

Is Steam becoming the main way for pc game distribution?

Is steam sluggish for anyone? Not in terms of downloading, but for things like scrolling through lists like achievements or all action games, etc? If it's just me I'd like to fix it as it's annoying as hell.

Just including this in case someone has a similar problem... I bought a power supply from lcdrepair.com and the installation was easy (just a bunch of screws). Total cost was under $50. The monitor works fine now.
