Memory upgrade on Dell E1705

Finally pulled the trigger... Had trouble parting with the HP laptop as it was a nice rig, but you can't turn down the GeForce 7900 GO/Core 2 Duo for around $180 more, I'd be nuts.

Something weird is going on with Windows Updates

I just checked my computer after reading this and noticed that my settings had changed to install everyday at 3:30 AM. My old settings were set to download and notify but don't install. Seems like you might be right that a new update may be changing peoples default Automatic Update settings.

Do you think it would be worth it to upgrade to the WSXGA Ultrasharp 17" screen for the Dell? I currently have a 17" Ultrasharp Dell monitor for my desktop and I wondered if I'd really see much of a difference in quality for the $149 upgrade on the laptop.

Overheating Issues.. Stumped.

Looks like it is definetly the GPU heatsink. Runs smooth as silk with a fan blowing into the case, but when I remove the fan I get a lock-up. History report by ASUS probe says CPU never runs hotter than 33 Degrees. Do I try to RMA this card or attempt to apply arctic 5? The system is under...

After I saw the CPU post I used ASUS probe to check out CPU temps.. i run at 28-29 degrees when Idle. I can't imagine temps would raise to the point of malfunctioning when they are that low when idle?

I'm just not sure this has anything to do with the Heatsink or overheating. My system has run just fine, never gone above 45C. When my system hard reboots it has only increased a few degrees when I monitor it with ASUS Probe. Also, my GPU isn't overheating as the temp on that doesn't budge...

Well if I go the Arctic Silver 5 route should I think about getting a new heatsink/fan for my processor? Also, I would like the 80mm fan to be as quite as possible, so would the Panaflo still be a good choice?
