Hi DBaron. That sounds like a faulty ram to me. Since you got two modules, try using only one of them in your test (test one at a time). If one of the modules comes out clean in the tests while the other doesn't, you may have found the problem. I hope that helps... Good luck!

Hi guys! Does anyone knows of a software that uses the modem to receive calls? Kinda of a phone, but that can also register the caller ID.

Software for Taxi center

Greetings fellows, does anyone knows of a software that works with: Receiving calls and also getting info about the location of the call? It's for a Taxi central, and the client wants the main computer with a software that can do this. Any suggestion will be appreciate, thanks!

annoying high-pitch noise coming from pc?

Try to stop the cpu fan from spining and check if the noise is still there. Try to hear carefully and check from where exactly that sound comes from

Games make monitor sleep

serious problem with 3d games

Can you tell me wich games were you playing?. Try to test several games as well as 3dmark, aquamark and other stuff, just to rule out aplication specific problems. Do you have no problems at all working at windows?

I think you are doing right. Your problem is VERY ODD, the only extra thing i can sugest is a clean installation of WinXP (try it in your second hard disk). If it works the problem was merely of software, then backup your files and format then reinstall WinXP in your primary HD. If it keeps...

Try to check the color correction in the display properties, set it to default. Did you tried another monitor with your machine? Have you put your video card to work in another system to see if it's workin' OK?

Any software/driver installed recently? I also think it could be overheating, mobo temps info may be wrong. Try a diferent video card and power supply to check if yours are malfunctioning

DVD Burners....

Only you know if you should get one. I don't backup my dvd nor do i use them a lot, so i have a conventional burner. Just think if you are really going to use it, and if the answer is yes, wait for a more experienced member to let you know wich one fits your needs

I have been hearing about linux for a lot of time. A couple of friends told me that it was an excellent operating system, however they don't have it installed. I use my computer mainly for low end gaming (NFS Porsche, IWD, BG2, Freelancer). What can i expect from linux?, whats better about it...

RMA my video card?

I have similar problems with my ti4600. If you see texture corruption before the lockups then it may be overheating. I guess you already checked the fan. I don't really think your card isn't compatible (but that can not be ruled out). Check the card in another computer and, if it fails again, RMA

I have no precise idea about how it broke. For what i can see, the tip of one holding pin was broken. I guess it broke while its previous owner was trying to remove the heatsink. I have just tried what you say fern, and i got no visible improvement. MAYBE 1 or 2 MHz, but i can't say for sure...

Geforce 4 ti4600 is Overheating

I bought a used PNY ti4600. It had the pins that hold the heatsink broken and no thermal grease, so i got it at a nice price (about $50 in Venezuela is cheap for that). I used a pair of screws to put the heatsink to its place and some cheap thermal grease, but the core can't go over 295 MHz...
