Hi, Thanks. I wasn't sure what was going on with that connector. It's good to know it's Sony's design--also nice they make it so difficult. Could it be just the keyboard that is shot, or the total laptop. No lights go on when it is plugged in. Thanks again.

I spilled coffee on my Vaio. It shut down; I had pulled the power and battery, but it won't restart (I'm pretty sure the coffee is dried out, and after disassembling it, I didn't see any coffee stains under the keyboard). I read in a post that unplugging the CMOS battery could reset things...

I went to Mozilla to try and find an older install, but saw a recent item in support about not being able to connect after updating...they had a link to symnatec's site. There they recommended deleting the old rule and adding a new rule. I guess it wasn't enough the Firewall was set to allow...

Thanks. I checked the connection and it is correct; this problem only happened when I upgraded ie and firefox; and avant, but when I used an old install of avant, it worked again. I also have safari for windows and it works. it is something that the upgrade does, I'm sure...

I thought so and checked and the firewall allows both--but why Avant which uses the IE engine works fine in the old version, but the upgrade that came out after the IE upgrade, does not work, but when I revert back to the old Avant version it works again, same computer settings, it has to be...

Can't access newly installed drive D in winXP system

my menu only shows properties and help; all else is grayed out. dan, I have a 2003 version of Systemworks around; if all else fails; I'll have to try using ghost to copy like you did. thanks, pj
