I have 2 HD's with a single partition each. The c: drive has XP and is fine. I reformatted the 2nd drive and installed Server 2003. After the initial reboot during installation, the error comes up "missing or corrupt system32/ntoskrnl". If i choose XP, the PC boots up fine. I have gone...

ok i forced it using nvidia drivers custom display settings. any harm in this?

Best 26-27" LCD for monitor?

got the monitor and everything is great. I used the VGA cable and was able to do 1280x720 with my video card. I now use the DVI cable and that option is gone from the choices. Closest i can come to it is 1280x960. any clues? I really enjoyed the 1280x720, but i also spent some money on this DVI...

Best 26-27" LCD for monitor?

I ordered the 27" x2gen of newegg yesterday. Only thing im wondering about is the site says 1280x720, but every other site says 1280x1024. I emailed x2gen and asked them for a spec sheet on model mv2701.

Yeah it definately does. Look for it on tiger direct and they actually have a pic of that back panel removed to show a VGA and DVI connector behind it. As for the resolution, i am fine with 1280x720 or 1280x768. Screen size is more important to me at this point.

that 27" x2gen looks pretty good also. wish it had some reviews already. comes with a free 2.5 foot long r/c car also. Good christmas present for the nephew

Best 26-27" LCD for monitor?

I am about a week away from purchasing an LCD-TV to use as a monitor. I've been hunting around and have found a few. My budget is less than 800.00 after shipping. So far i am leaning towards this one. Viewsonic 27" But here are a few i have also looked at. If anyone has any other good ones...

MMC Messed up. Device Manager, etc don't work

I was doing a spyware cleaning for a customer. When i was done, the device manager, event viewer, and pretty much every MMC file wouldnt work. It says the mmc can not open the file when i click on any of them. Also, when i try to install Mcafee now, it says exception occured. Any ideas on...

Bad RAM Maybe?

It had the MRTrate errors in the event viewer, and did have quicken, so i uninstalled that. I dont think that is the problem, as this computers issue is random HARD freezing. But took quicken off to maybe rid the PC of a different issue. Still stumped.

Bad RAM Maybe?

memtest had no errors, and now with her RAM in it has been working fine. This is like the car noise that wont happen when the mechanic is looking at it..lol. Any ideas from here? SPyware, Virus, and driver wise, the PC is in good shape. Im basically at a loss here.

MSI or GIGABYTE?????????

I have the Neo 2, my boss has the XP....I can tell you they are both great, but overclocking on his is a nightmare...lol...Also, his temp readings are way off. All in all it just seems like my board is much more stable and has more options.

XP-90 and Jab-Tech

All is well and item has already been shipped. I am interested to see what kind of performance i get out of the XP-90 and a 92mm Tornado. I know it will be loud, but it should also be very chilly..lol

I have never used jab-Tech before, but on a reccomendation i gave them a try and ordered an XP-90 tonight. I payed via paypal and when i went back to check my order, it shows that i have yet to pay. Paypal sent me a reciept. Anyone ever have anything like this happen?

I need CPU/MB advice please....

If your going A64, go with the 939 board and a Winchester core. if you are an overclocker, you will be handily pleased with a Neo2 Platinum and a 3200 CPU.

NV Silencer and 6800 Ultra

Im afraid i already ordered the NV5, as i said in my first post. I'll be using ASC on the RAM and core, the mosfets have ASC already on them. I keep readin that the NV5 doesnt come with the plate to work with the ultra, i'm hoping this is wrong.

I was wondering, how exactly does the NV5 work with an ultra since the ultra is a 2 slot cover. Seems like you would have to do some cutting or something to get it to work. Anyhow, i ordered one and now that it is shipping, i am wondering how im going to get it on there...lol

Yeah I know SLI questions are overdone and a PITA...

if im not mistaken, the 6600's would be faster at the lower resolutions, but the 6800GT performs much better at high resolutions. I think maybe it has something to do with the 6600 being a 128mb card. Perhaps SLI doesn't use the other cards RAM effectively. I saw these tested somewhere on the...

BFG 6800 OC OVERCLOCKING/UNLOCKING QUESTIONS~ PLS HELP~

You have to watch out for many things with overclocking and forums. For one, alot of people will lead you to believe things that are not true. Some people will get something to get to windows at a certain speed, and post that it is prime stable, when in reality it can barely launch the start...

Which memory would you O/Ced with?

Lower latency is always better, But not always better for overclocking. I went with PC4000 Ram for a 1:1 overclock myself.

Currently i use the MSI Neo2 Onboard AC97. I found an old Audigy 1394 card laying around and was wondering what kinds of increases would i see by using it instead. If im not mistaken it is the original Audigy. It is the SB0090 card. I remember that onboard sound used to cost you 5-10 frames...

High Performance Vid Bios

RAM wise i think its fine, because artifacts dont exist. Core wise, i am going to 435 for my own peice of mind. Ive benchmarked and saved the screenshots, so no sense in overkill just for the sake of overkill. My permanent settings, largely thanks to Thugs. 6800u with GTU Bios 435/1200...

13927 in 3dmark03. How safe is it to run 450/1200 24/7. I dont think the agp voltage being 1.55 in the bios will do anything, as that juice does not actually go to the card so i've read. Anyhow, this is where i am at, and where i am going to stay. I left the temp monitor up on the screen...
