AMD 939 Processor HELP

click/snap probably means the heatsink retention clip wasn't fully over the lugs around the processor socket, and when it was in the case gravity pulled it off. Carefully bend pins back into place, put processor in socket, and correctly install heatsink.. making sure to clear the lugs.

help removing retail hsf

Retail AMD64 heatsink was a bitch to remove. Xp90 was even worse to install. But it happened eventually... oh and the mounting bracket thing, you don't need to remove what's on the mobo currently (it's the default AMD bracket), the xp90 will come with mounting gear to uh .. make things align...

8-bit 19" or 17" LCD

1905fp is proven 8-bit, even though it has a highish rate of 20ms it's true 8-bit. Lots of the speed demons are 6-bit dithering..

How do I tell what speed AGP port I have?

Go to your mobo manufacturer's website, read the manuals, it would specify what type of AGP port it supports.

GF3 Ti 200 - is passive cooling enough?

I owned a Gainward Geforce3 Ti/450 Powerpack !!! golden sample or something. The amazing thing was I didn't realize the fan was broken until I popped it out to replace the stock heatsink with an arctic cooler.. it had been running fanless for quite some time.. On the other hand, it did die...

Fixed that quote.. If you're looking for stock cooling with no O/C, go with a passive Gigabyte 6600gt.
