Oh, and I suppose I should probably answer the question I started this thread for (the amperage thing). Voltage always has to match, but amperage is like a pool that each component pulls from. So as long as the amps collectively used by the components (the fan and the router in this instance)...

Rosewill RNX-N4 fan mod.

About 9 months ago I bought a Rosewill RNX-N4 router, and overall I've been happy with it. The only problem I really have with it is that, about once every week or two, the router drops all connections and has to be reset to fix the problem. I'm not sure, but I think this is due to overheating...

WMA lossless DRM removal

True. However MP3 is not lossless. Do you know of a music store that sells lossless DRM-free music? (format is unimportant as lossless files can be recoded an infinite number of times without quality loss) Thanks for the suggestion though! Keep 'em coming!

High pitched noise from a new build.

I used to own a ati aiw 9800 and it made a high pitched whine whenever I scrolled through pages. Came to find out it was an an ATI acknowledged defect with some of their GPU's. You might check different forums for oddities like that in your system.

I think he meant 2800, and if it is a 2800, then yes the fsb should be 166 (remember DDR, so 166*2= 333 [well, technicaly 332] which is what the 2800 is rated for)

whats the hardest part about putting a comp together?

when building a socket A system, it was getting the heatsink on w/o putting a hole in the mobo, LOL! but now-a-days, probably what VirtualLarry said. The bios is pretty easy for newbs, as in most cases the defaults are fine. Same w/ partions/formating. Windows does most of it for you!

the ram is DDR so it runs at 200mhz, but does work on the rising and falling side of the cycle, so that should be correct. As for the other probs I think the best corse of action is a bios flash. I know it sounds pretty intemedating the first time, but it's really not too bad. I think that will...
