Why do Fermi cards have bad video quality?

I have an ATI 5850 as well as an nVidia GTX570. The video quality (at least to my eyes) seems identical.

I'm asking this question again, would a dual core E7500 bottleneck a 5870?

I have a dual core E8600 OC'd to 4.3 GHz. I OC my 5850 past 5870 speeds and I always max out my GPU load in all benchmarks at 1920x1200. A dual core E7500 may be a different story though.

Pretty much what I would think too. The 5850 can easily hit 900, and most will hit 950 to 1000. Given that the 5850 is about 55% of the price of a 480 (if you can get a 480 at MSRP), and can perform within 10% of it, it's a no-brainer. Compared against the 470, it's an even easier...

I'm not a fanboi, I've hardly owned ATI until this gen (my last cards were 8800GTs). The ATI 5850 is by far the best price to performance card you can buy.

Here's my last run with my overclocked HD5850. It's an older processor (E8600 dual core), but I have it clocked nicely at 4.3GHz (look at realtemp for CPU speed, the Heaven Benchmark is not reporting the real speed).

I have one of those! My 2nd 5850 (HIS) overclocks to 1000 MHz pretty easily with a 0.1v bump to 1.2V. My 580W power supply has no problem with it, and my temps are nice and cool too (never higher than 65C with the fan at 60% running Heaven benchmark for an hour). My 1st one (XFX) maxes...

There is an obvious flaw in the table you linked to. 2 identical cards in SLI should draw double the power (and current) if fully loaded. The GTX 260 did reflect this, but the GTX 280 did not. So, it's either a typo in the table or during the GTX 280 SLI test the cards were not actually fully...

Agreed, try a little bit higher voltage. You should be able to use MSI Afterburner to adjust the voltage (it works for the 5850 anyway) without a BIOS flash. I have one of my 5850s at 1.2V, and it is stable at 1000 Core, 1250 Memory. I would not try raising your memory speed any more than...

I bought the XFX when it 1st came out, so there may have been more "binning" then when I bought the 2nd card and they were hard to find, so they may have binned less just to get the cards out there. It's a crapshoot. In the end, the extra 5%-10% of overclock is only a couple of FPS, and...
