ah heck! For the first few days my 2005FPWs looked just fine, sans a pair of stuck subpixels on each. I wasn't entirely bothered by those because I seriously didn't care and since I couldn't see them during normal use and had to sit really damned close to see them, it wasn't a big thing...

Absolutely horrid pictures of these beatiful monitors. I was in a rush. I might take some better ones tomorrow. I have a couple of places that I need to post these in.
I wouldn't worry about going with one or the other. Both are awesome screens as far as I'm concerned. I bought a pair of 2005FPWs and so far they are both working wonderfully. I have a total of 4 stuck subpixels, but I'm not sending them back for that. I didn't run into the backlighting...
A couple of people on HardForum were complaining about it a few weeks back. After seeing how difficult it can be to see dead/stuck pixels I wonder if maybe they just didn't notice them the first time they checked. If they are viewing their monitors from arms length, like they should be, they'd...
Wow, is all I can say. They showed up tonight, about an hour ago and after I ate some dinner I installed them. I spent some time after they were hooked up looking for bad pixels and backlight problems.
Neither had backlight problems. Both had two stuck subpixels each, and I tell ya...
This really sucks. I mean, I already own the Nvidia DVD decoder for my Media Center 2005 machine, but this sucks that I would have had to pay for it to get the features I was told I would have when I bought the card.
The Decoder has been working really well for me too, so I don't mind, but...
I've never actually called Dell for anything. I've bought a 1900FP, PowerEdge 400SC, a PowerConnect switch and a pair of optical drives from them in the past all using the web, mostly because it was easier that way. I might trying calling in the future just to see what I can convince them into.
I didn't press very hard at all. It was hard enough to slightly distort the area around that pixel, but not a lot. I was basically leaving a slight trail behind where my finger was, but it faded very fast. I only had to move over the affected pixels maybe 2-3 times before it popped back into...
The arguments about Dell QC are ridiculous. It's already been documented that LG makes the panels. If anything it's an LG or maybe a BenQ problem as I'm pretty sure they actually put the monitors together for Dell.
Sadhu, I can see where you are coming from, but if Dell was losing money, or...
Dell doesn't have a 30 day return policy, it's a 21 day return policy and it starts the day the monitor is shipped.
