9800 PRO Freezes System

OK. I played Swat 4 with settings on High for an hour yesterday and didn't get a system lock-up. I played America's Army with all settings at Highest for an hour and a half yesterday and didn't lock up. I'm convinced BF2 has some sort of memory or texture leake or something.

ATI 9800 PRO Temperature Monitor?

So what's the normal temp for the 9800 PRO anyway? My CPU reads maximum of 52C on a warn day with the AC off. With my AC on, it usually stays at 47 MAX under load. I read that a good estimate of GPU temps is CPU temp +20 degrees. Is this correct? So 80-85 degrees should be normal for a...

ATI 9800 PRO Temperature Monitor?

Does the 9800 PRO built by ATI have a temperature monitor on it? I have tried to locate the GPU temp in ATI Tray Tools but they are grayed out. I assume then mine doesn't have the sensor, but I have read that the 9800 PROs have the sensor. Anyone have any idea? It would be ironic if a card...

9800 PRO Freezes System

The power supply is a brand new Thermaltake 480W. The entire system is brand new. Just built it 2 weeks ago. The only component that was old was the Audigy 1 Gamer. I yanked that out and switched to onboard sound. I think my problem was partially heat, but I've done plenty to rectify...

Normal Temps?

CPU CLock Setting in Bios?

OK, thanks. I followed everything you mentioned and every thing seems setup normal. I changed that setting from "start up" to x11 2200MHZ. The setting for CPU clock can be changed to between 200MHz and 300MHz, using 1MHz intervals. I got it up to 213MHz without a problem...opps...

Lecture me on mp3 harddrives

I'm not sure, but wouldn't a hard-drive based MP3 player (i.e. iPod Mini) need a small amount of flash memory to load the MP3 into? So I assume the drive will stop spinning when a song is playing, right? I just bought a Creative Zen 5GB and plan on receiving it today. Hope I like it.

Hmmm.. interesting idea. The general consensus is that a 1GB stick of PC3200 Dual-Channel Ram is better than 2 x 512 sticks? Or do you mean that in the future I can throw in another 1GB stick and run that dual-channel?

That's also my dilemma. My ATI 9800 PRO is still pretty good for my needs and my budget at the moment would probably get me a 6600GT on PCI-E, which I am not sure is all that much better than an 9800 PRO on AGP . So I figure I'll just stick to AGP since PCI-E won't be necessary for games...

Generally I would agree, but I don't feel this is a "premium" product. It's a 20" widescreen LCD for around $600. The Apple screen, which apparently uses the same panel technology from LG, costs twice as much. The Samsung costs $1400 more. If a pixel(s) bothers you, by all means return...
