Why most prefer Win98SE over WinME?

Ram heatsinks --- better overclocking?

Weren't the heatsinks on the Herc taped on with thremal tape? If so the epoxy that merlocka used probably gives better heat transfer to the heatsink and maybe thats why he noticed a difference.

try going to Start=>Settings=>Taskbar and Start Menu=>Advanced=>Clear removes links in the start documents folder and clears internet addresses from the pull down web address thingy in your browser, but doesn't delete your history or temporary internet files.

back up 8 gigs?

I'm just starting computer programming class and we were talking about binary code. How exactly does the computer know the difference between a number and a letter since every letter is assigned a certain number(ASCII right?)? My teacher couldn't answer but I know someone on here will know :)

Water cooling advice needed...which things to get?!

Sorry, I remembered seeing this at amdzone and just did a quick search and brought it up. I should've looked at it better. The numbers do appear messed up. The only explaination I can think of is a early bios version or it's bs. I also remember something that the via chipsets have poor memory...

How long can you last without your computer...better yet any computer?

Cable Modem vs. DSL

you'll gain a cable modem, network card, and faster download speeds. cable is faster than dsl in most cases, but it depends on how many cable modem users your isp has and how many are online when you're on. I have dsl and I'm happy with it.

How far you think a T-Bird 750 would overclock?

I pushed my 850 tbird as far as 1020 on the abit ka7 but it wasn't stable. Quake 3 would crash and upon reboot the screen would be all garbled. I kept it at 1003mhz. This was all done by changing the fsb only! Many 700 tbirds reach 900-950 and some go above. Theres always a chance :D

its too early to tell which ones are better as there are only a few out. wait a week or two for the abit or asus boards. they probably made the best kx133 and should be among the top kt133 boards.

Abit-Bp6....a drive not working

make sure the 1 pin on the floppy drive is matched up with the red line on the side of the ide cable. The same goes for the connector on the mobo. The red line on the side of the ide cable shows what side the 1 pin has to be on. For my floppy I had to actually cut off that little black notch on...
