It probably is the board then.
Is your 10*247 @ 1:1 at 1T ?? Because I can't seem to get that even on 10 multi.
My fan is working at 1600rpm because it is an ultra quiet one but the airflow it creates is more than the standard akasa fans with leds. I did have a blue led one.
Right...
I would too. And tbh, it seems like Mr CrucialLabs won't even do all the tests and will just give some simple screenshots of cpu-z. Anyone could do that? hardly needs a stable PC.
I've been ripping my hair out with these Ballistix modules trying to get it to run 250 @ 1T and seems like I've...
I think I might have to agree with bo3bber that it is the board that is the issue.
To KheeWhee, if you are using a half multiplier like 10.5, your memory will be running at a slower speed than you believe even though it says that it is running at the right speed in programs such as CPU-Z. So...
Hey CrucialLabs
I have also tried the exact same settings that you are running. Are you running Memtest86 and Prime95 over long periods to show the stability? Because even though they seem stable in games, it doesn't necessarily mean the memory is completely stable. In my opinion, for it to...
I just tried flashing to 1010.002 beta bios hoping that it would fix the infamous "AGP" problem with the 9700/9800 pro cards and also to see if it would help me overclock my ram any better since it won't even do above 230mhz at any timings and it is PC4000. I have a strong feeling it is the...
hi adeathangel
I think the "Vcore" problem that you are describing was fixed in a later version of the bios. The 1009 final bios is actually released now so you can grab it on the Asus site.
About the instability... Is it completely stable when NOT overclocked? because I had instability...
I would strongly advise you to stay clear of Crucial Ballistix PC4000 modules. I bought an A8V deluxe rev2 with a matched pair of Ballistix PC4000 and have had nothing but trouble when trying to achieve any speeds above 230 fsb.
I think the best memory would probably be the OCZ PC3200...
hi again
sorry for not posting for a while...... been slightly busy and not really been o/c much.
However, I have noticed that the memory runs faster as you increase the CPU speed (multiplier). So I can reach higher fsb's at 1:1 ratio at 10x than I can at 11x. Atm, I am running 230 x 11...
hi everyone
I have now come across more people who have problems with ballistix modules! So its not just ME! But difference with me is that I actually bought a matched pair of PC4000 sticks and I still can't even get a good overclock. I can't even get 250mhz at 2.5-3-3-8 or even as loose as...
thanks for reply
Sorry to hear you have same problem slug! but kind of glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. Is it the motherboard that is holding us back then? I've not been able to test any other good overclockable memory in this board so I can't say.
Skoop - thanks...
hi
All i would like is to be able to run my memory at the 250 fsb that it should be able to run at....since I paid the extra for it. In terms of difference in performance, there really isn't that much, even when it is only slightly overclocked, say 235 x 10 = 2350mhz it is still very fast...
Hi
thanks for reply
When I have tried using 250fsb I have solely done so to test my memory so I've lowered my multiplier down to 10* so i have 2500mhz cpu speed. I have tried this with memory running at a lower ratio ie ram not running at 250 but cpu = 250 x 10 and it is...
Hi
I've had my rig for a while now and i've not been able to get my memory to run at 250mhz. It is 2 x 512mb Crucial Ballistix pc4000 rated to run at 250mhz @ 2.5-3-3-8 1T and i can't seem to get it to run at even 3-4-4-10 without getting errors in memtest!
I've tried all different...
I also seem to get this problem with the random lock ups.
However, it seems to be only when overclocking. Seems like your memory is what is causing yours and probably same with me also.
I have Crucial Ballistix PC4000 which should in theory run at 250mhz at 2.5-3-3-8 no probs but mine...
