My netbook died and someone offered to buy it for 100 bucks. I'm more than willing to do this deal, but I want to wipe the disk before I sell it.
So how do I erase my disk?
Is there a way to remove the disk and connect it to my desktop and format from there? What do I need to do that...

Ok my mobo on my dell is fried, and dell wants $250 for a replacement motherboard.... i've seen some floating around for 30 bucks or so but I don't know if it'll fit in the btx case and the oddness that is dell hardware configuration...
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm just...
I tried, and still no luck.... its very odd. How does this not work if the harddrives aren't even connected??? Is it a hardware issue?
I posted on another forum and i got this discouraging message...

I was prepping some files for my new netbook and I clicked this file and suddenly i go BSOD.... I didn't let it finish the dump and turned it off immediatley. Now when I try to turn the computer on the power light is yellow and the fans are on max. I can't get a vid signal through vga or dvi.. I...
Yea I need something realllly light and small. I'm not a big guy sow when I have a 5lb 15.4inch laptop on my person I'll notice. This is something thats going to be in my bag nearly constantly, so I want to be as mobile as possible. I'd also like to stick with apple since I'm more accustomed to...
Do you guys think the 1.8ghz, 2gb MBA is a bit underpowered for photoshop/illustrator work? I'd for sure upgrade the ram to 4gb whenever my funds allow....
the main point is of the thread is trading this huge 50lb beast of a dell a good deal for a macbook air? It's a refurb, so I'm gonna wait till the warranty is dead and then stick a 1.8in ssd in... hopefully prices drop significantly by that point.
But does anyone have some information about...
1.8ghz, 2gb ram, 80gb? its good enough for me. I really need a small pc that I can slip in my bag without it being a hassle to lug around. It should suffice for some photoshop work, differently better than trying to deal with a netbook and being forced to buy a macbook in a few months. Plus the...
I have this HUGE tower that is virtually useless to me. I bought it when pc games consumed my life.... and now its just a major pain in the ass. I was in the market for a cheap netbook to hold me over for the semester, but I would have had to eventually buy a mac for art school next year. I...
I already have a couple underages under my belt so when the security guard mentioned cops... I realized they had no right to detain and hold me against my will. So I jetted.
Plus whats a fair price for this kind of fix?
AoA didn't work... the file is too corrupted... though on my phone preview panel I can see the first frame of the video... I think its just the footer info thats messed up.... anyone know anyone who can fix this?
Pregamed. Didn't attempt to order anything. Plus I wouldn't have been able to bring anything int the club anyway. They frisk you as you go in... its in a pretty shady area of DC.
No I was drunk so I didn't want to approach the police, because I was more concerned at the time for my record rather than some cuts, bruises, and a pair of jeans...
Plus they said get out of here ( legal verbal permission to leave) so they had no right to chase me down. Plus I took pictures...
What if I buy this replacement PSU?
Would that bring it up to par? All these upgrades would total to about 230-ish
Otherwise if we were to start from scratch how much would it cost to build a decent rig on the cheap -- minus cd/dvd drives, case, psu?
No... I'm 20 so they marked me under 21 and they saw that I rubbed my x's off but I didn't order a drink or anything... they put me in a back room... then made a little escape attempt and got chased 3 blocks down the road and was tackled and ruffed up (very illegal) they then dragged me by the...
I had a incident in a club at dc which resulted in a nasty series of events with some bouncers in a public street.... My phone recorded the whole incident but the file got corrupted somehow.
I recorded the video with my iphone and it won't play in the video recording app or vlc... anyone have...

I dug up my old AMD64 setup for my brother the other day and it was working just fine until last night. For some reason the usb ports malfunctioned and all connected devices stopped working. So today I plug in some old PS/2 input devices and got the thing up and running through usb, but suddenly...
I used nTune to manually bump my FSB and I eventually got it to 279mhz x 9 so I'm just a little above 2.5ghz. I have no idea how stable this is, but it hasn't crashed so I'm satisfied I suppose. Its pretty pathetic that I could only get a 100mhz increase but eh.... My 7900gs faired a bit better...
I've been thinking about oc'ing my XPS 710 (C2D 2.4GHZ 6600, 3gb ddr2, (1) 7900gt).
I've never really tried to do this before, so I turned to nTune to do the work for me but it just doesn't work.
Whats a reasonable OC for my CPU and GPU? Should I expect to hit 2.8ghz? Should I get another...
I've heard some rumors on the internets claiming that the XPS 720's LED lights can mimick sound based on intensity, and color changes can be cued by certain events ( ie: lights turn red when shot ).
Though I have a 710 I don't think the case is different apart from color, so does anyone know...
