    X2 4400+ temperature issue

    I tried speedfan and MBM5 they report the same temps as asus probe. 52 degrees with 2 instances of prime95 running (stock volts and speed), i also tried the stock heatsink and got the same results. So either, the temp probes are inaccurate or this processor generates this much heat.

    I don't think its an air flow problem, becuase my case is open (for the time being) and I also have 4 fans in a LianLi case. I will try a few different temp monitoring programs and report back.

    Well thats kind of disapointing as I would definately like to overclock my chip. I had my 3700+ at 2.6Ghz and it never went over 51 degrees at 1.51V I will try the sock heatsink for fun just to see if i get better temps.

    I didn't bother updating the drivers prior to upgrading my BIOS and did not have issues. You can always boot in safe mode and install the latest drivers if you are having trouble.

    I had the same problem. Download the drivers, extract the contents of the driver package with winrar to a folder on your desktop. Then install the drivers from the extracted folder (a driver setup.exe is in one of the extracted folders, but off hand I can't remember which)
